Increased to 10k

Yeah I just worked it out to be £60 a month better off.

Better than a smack in the face, lovely job.

How long until this goes through? I read there is a budget due soon.

Only concern is that the tax threshold being increased to 10k, what about the tax thereafter?

We might not be much better off as we thought.

Doesn't really matter though, under labour we'd have been much worse off.

I hope that the Conservatives pump some more money into the Catalyst schemes.

I imagine a lot of new things will come out now, along with massive cuts in civil servants. Can't wait

What happens around here is they occasionally build nice new housing estates, give half of them for people on benefits to live in and make the other half supposedly affordable but in reality they aren't affordable at all. 140k for a 2 bed house with a small garden and no drive is not affordable to my mind. And if you can somehow afford it you then have to live next door to a bunch of scum bags living there for free off benefits. So basically end up living on a shit hole estate

The problem is I earn above the average wage around here and I cant even get a mortgage for that. Never mind people earning less than me. So how the hell does that work?

Had my eye on an apartment, but turns out half the block are scroungers.

That is the issue Matty G, if I wasn't with Rachel I would never be able to afford to move out and I imagine it's the same for a lot of people on here.

It's beyond the means of a lot of people on their own.

But as an individual are you not aiming a little high for a first house???

A first house, by yourself to me is a 1/2 bedroom flat or tiny house. Deffo not with a garage.

I understand thats not what people want, but your talking about spending £35k less than I did, by youself. I wouldn't have a hope in hell if I were not with Donna.

You have to realise your situation, and whilst you may be on a good wage, it doesn't automatically mean you can afford an expensive house. There are other things to consider, what if you loose your job, hour a high risk, paying the most out for a house, but only 1 income etc.

You need to look at smaller properties unless your absolutly loaded. Not being arsey about it, its just the way it is.

Oliver, you could get a nice house between you, just about sacrificing certain things in life.

Yes exactly you get to pay a ridiculous price for the privilege of living next door to a load of scrounging shit bags that are getting it for free?

Hence me still being at home. I'm not expecting it on a plate and know it would be hard affording a house but it's no where near even being a realistic option with the way things are.

I'm not looking forward to the "going it alone" house buying... if it comes to that!
