Yea, gonna tape it all up with cardboard again. Already done a few chips, but I can just touch them in using a little trick Tom taught me

Lee Mitchell told me it's easy

If it come to it, the input shaft pops out to give me some more space....

When I did mine, it was a lot of ballache getting the head on, inlet on, etc with it in the bay, as there's not much room to do it.

I'd build it up first if I did it again.

It was my first time though

the head and manifold are easy... its the lining up of the input shaft and the clutch thats the ball ache... and with a freashly painted engine bay i would definately bolt the gearbox and block together and lift it in..

my 2p

Yea, getting the head on isn't going to be fun because I am switching to head studs. I'd rather the engine be in place though when I tighten the studs up though as it means I can torque everything up nicely without the engine going all over the place on the trolly. What's going to be done is the front mounts will be undone and the engine will pivot down and forwards on the pallet barrow or trolly jack.

I like taking things apart

But the most important thing to me was getting the suspension and hubs all re-assembled fully as the car needed to go back on it's wheels and I HATE doing suspension, hubs and brakes...

Needs to be on it's wheels to move it about. Don't see what difference it makes having it on it's wheels while painting it and having it on axle stands.

It's the same yellow as a can of Boddingtons.
