still waiting for the wheel i bent to come back, apparently they've got it straight on the lathe just needs a bit more work

Ordered a few bits from VW yeasterday,

comfort turn signals
Sunvisor lights x 2
lower door light on passenger side
sunvisor clip
glovebox door
Toureag cig lighter LED torch
Coin holder insert

Grand total of £141

there were other things on my list but i thought that was enough for now

Anni mirror
Rear pass side reading light (£110! )

And a couple other bits but i cannot remember off the top of my head.

Not much of an interesting update but hey

Fro, are these bits that were robbed off it, or that you just want?

P.S. what are comfort turn signals?

comfort turn signals - More of a want, move stalk slightly and it'll flash three times then stop.
Sunvisor lights x 2 - cover is missing on one, clip is broken on the other
lower door light on passenger side - reflector missing so light wobbles around
sunvisor clip - missing, so sunvisor moves around when driving
glovebox door - broken so does not shut without the aid of something wedged in it
Toureag cig lighter LED torch - Not neccesary but can see it being useful
Coin holder insert - not neccessary but could also be useful (was under £2 i think)

Gregg - Definately needs a good valet And Liz definately did not approve

Update

Picked up the bits i ordered from VW yesterday

Got the glovebox lid swapped over as the mechanism in the old one was busted, was a bit of a pain in the arse but definately worth it as i now dont have a tissue holding it closed and it won't fall down when it feels like it!

Tow eye cover took two secs and tidies the rear up a bit, thinking about spraying it silver so it blends in more though?

Fitted

Another thing that was getting annoying was my sunvisor flapping about due to the clip missing, so i screwed that on nice and easy

The rest of the things in the pics above were,

Torch that recharges using the sig lighter - Very bright almost like a small HID headlight.

Comfort turn signals loom - Was a bit fiddly swaping wires from one connector to the other but didnt take too long and got it working first time. So now if im on a motorway and want to change lanes i just gently move the stalk up or down and it will flash three times then stop, bit lazy but hey!

sunvisor light - one of them had a broken clip and kept faling out when the sunvisor was pulled down, so replaced that.

And lastly the door puddle light - reflector was missing from it so the light was loose in the door.

Nothing too exciting for everyone but its just little bits and pieces the car needs to finish it off

Colin - Door was £54.64 + VAT and if the glovbox han't been out before you will need o take the centre console around the gear stick etc out aswell! Have you dried using some dashboard wipes on it?

Ben - Not sure Need to phone Smithy and see if they managed to save it or not, hope they could!

Ooopss, didn't realise you had replied about the comfort indicators. And you didn't have to tell me about every part your ordered

Puddle light, how ironic

Also, I thought these VAGs were supposed to be well built?!

UPDATE:

The golf is currently stripped out in the rear I noticed there was a leak which was starting in the boot and then flowing under the rear seats due to the slope on my driveway. So while it was chucking it down on wednesday i set about saving my interior and this was the end result.

Rear doorcards out, back seats out, boot lining out. and then an old duvet to cover up all the crap that was in there so i could drive it without getting hit by all sorts

Then after buying some silicone i set about stripping the exterior to get to where the leak was coming in.

And the culprit...

Common problems on mk4's is that the rubber seal around the vent perishes and allows water to leak through, so i sealed it up both sides.

And then put the exterior back together again and took all ofmy crap out the boot and was left with this

I'll be putting the interior back in when i can be sure the leak is fixed
