No update to the z4, but traded the shopping/other halfs daily car in yesterday and picked up a brand new focus zetec 1.0 ecoboost last night.
It drives surpisingly well and is a lot quicker than I thought it would be.
The z4 isn't exactly shopping friendly and the fiesta was a bit small boot wise to be very practical.
First owner to fart on the seat ftw

This ones the 100ps variant. Nice engine and cruises along effortlessly on motorways.
I wanted it in white but they had no stock left.

I saw those alloys on a 7 series yesterday, so now I know what to search for on ebay
Was meant to be getting some 20mm and 25mm wheel spacers yesterday, but the guy never bothered phoning me, so unsure whats going on. He's on another forum so will have to message him.
Gave the focus it's first clean by me today. Needless to say, i'm not happy with the clean up the dealer did. Wax residue at the bottom of the doors and brake dust stuck to the alloys. Took the shitty dealer sticker off the rear window, but left the badges on for now.
Some rubbish pics, which I had to edit due to awful lighting.
The engine is absolute gem. It's a 1.0 turbo petrol with just 100ps, yet drives lovely and feels far superior to the 1.25 82ps fiesta it replaced.
The only thing that lets it down are the looks. I hate it whoever designed the rear lights and alloys needs shooting.

Agreed gav. Loved my focus st inside and out. Mind you, the base spec focus did look pretty pants, so I guess it's the same here (except every derivative has the gash lights).
With this one I only like the interior.
Drove the Z4 around tonight and realised I don't enjoy normal driving in it as much now the ride is too harsh, the engine noise is rather loud inside and it just attracts tossers.
Love it when I can drive it properly though.

Realised my MOT expires on the 19th of this month, so need to replace the worn arb link arm, so de ided to buy some cheap pattern parts off ebay for a tenner. You get both sides so seemed decent value. If they are rubbish then it doesn't matter too much.
Dad will fit those for me while I ''supervise'', meaning I will watch him do it all
I was on my private race track tonight and decided to make a quick video of the noise the sound generator (a small pipe that sends the enging sounds into the cabin). It sounds much louder in real life, but I like it anyway.

i already have it retrofitted it, and like you say, it's only the stalk i needed. great invention
unsure why video isn't working, will try and sort it out.
jambo, i love the look of it lowered, but i hate the speedhumps and awful roads when i look back at pics of it at standard height, it looks like a 4x4!

my official job title is 'Advanced Production Operator'. i work on a production line and right now, my jobs involve fitting flywheels/bolts, clutches/bolts, scanning and racking them up for shipping and fixing issues when robots break down.
this job is shared between 4 of us. Recently, i've learned a lot of other jobs such as fitting the turbo.
It's nothing like working on a production line making other stuff. we have quite a lot of free time to do non work related stuff, so it's alright.
My dads an engineer and seems to know everything about everything so i let him get on with the jobs i don't want to do or don't know how to do.

i'm not sure, but i know you can buy them separately, and as the engines are the same in the e46, i don't see why they wouldn't fit.
here's some info:
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63037
they come standard on the 3.0i models as far as i'm aware. whether that's the case for the e46, i'm not sure.
it just means i get to press the loud pedal without annoying my neighbours

yes lee, saw those. he was meant to sell me his wheel spacers but didn't bother ringing me.
jim, the ride is no worse than standard, it's just nice to get in a car and not feel every bump. drove the focus for 40 miles last night and loved it.

Tbh i know what you mean, not really loving the corrado at the moment and thinking of changing suspension for the 4th time
Its great on decent bits of road, but the majority of roads i'm literally bouncing out my seat at silly speeds on shit roads
