Bought a new rear mech as my other one kind of died a month ago and was chucking the chain off and skipping gears. Got a shimano slx shadow thing with a clutch for £30+vat, fitted it before feels a lot nicer to change gear with and I can jump and the chain hardly moves.

Pretty solid those shimano shadow mechs, far better than the Sram XX1 I have on my bike, the chain flys around everywhere.

Got a 20 mile road bike ride in tonight, was a group ride but I spent a lot of time on the front, aiming for a 10 mile MTB ride in the morning before work in the evening. Want to get fit as I fancy racing gravity enduro next year.

Can you create segments on route you've created on Strava?

I've created a route on the computer but can't seem to add a segment to it unlike the routes it's recorded I've done?

you have to use a route you've already done to create a segment.
open up an activity on the computer, then to the left of the map, there is a little spanner. click on that to create the segment.

Do you wear padded knickers? Helps a lot, although you do kinda get used to doing distances after a while.

I don't, by the looks of it I will be investing in some! I let a bit of air pressure out of the rear to let it absorb some of the bumps but I didn't want to let too much out so it felt like I had a flat tyre.
Not sure if I like the CTD on the newFox Float 32's, doesn't seem to alter the characteristics of the fork as much as you think it would.

anyone watch the uci downhill this morning the brits pretty much smashed it out of the park with gee and Rachel Atherton taking top spots with good old rat boy 2nd. shame about adam brayton breaking his leg and putting a 27cm gash in his leg and the guy who offered to take his bike down to the bottom for him decdied to ride the course without a helmet or protection to have a really nasty crash on the whoop section and ending up on a spinal board
