Also, hate digi dashes. Pretty boring compared to a needle dial that just rockets around wanting to snap itself.

Can remember years ago when folk fitted them to XE Novas and Corsas and claimed they would do 157mph+ because digi dashes were accurate because they were digital lol.

Fuel and temp needle guages particularly on the set of original clocks out of this Cavalier were shit, wouldn't read accurately at all below the half way mark, not a good thing especially with the fuel guage, since fitting the digi it was s lot more accurate all the way from a full tank down to the fuel light not just to the half way point and having to judge the rest by mileage!

I think considering I owned the car for the last 3 years im in a stronger position to comment on which clocks worked better in this particular spplication as I know what they were like before.

Weather it's more or less accurate or not it's not a pointless mod jsut because the readings arent blob on, aesthetically they look better as well,

Gsi kit pointless? Adds weight heavier than normal ones
Leather interiors?
Flocking the living day lights out of the interior trims when the car is neither a race or rally car? Pointless?

Sounds to me more like a faulty fuel sender or float or incorrect sender for the dial, or even a dodgy dial, rather than just needles in general are innacurate.

forgive my ignorance but they are wired to the same sensors. The actual difference between each unit on the digi dash is quite a lot compared to an analogue needle so no, the digi dash can't work better. Ever.

Of course it can you pillock, if an old set of shitty clocks don't read correctly due to sticking or generally Shit lazy needles a digital dash without needles will read more accurately providing the fault isn't the temp sensor or fuel level sender which was obviously checked prior to fitting digi clocks, if the old needle clocks struggle to read anything below the half way mark and a digi dash goes all the way down to the fuel light coming on in increments of 2 bars dropping at a time although not as accurate as s modern car it's in my eyes doing a better job than a needle that goes from full to half and no further. stick to fitting tyres mate.

And even digi vs mechanical aside, a modern set of needle clocks agains a brand new set of non faulty old needle clocks will be miles better. Old needle clocks from this era are know for being shit, nova clocks were the same, shit.
