Done a few more bits in preparation for the overhead footage of the school.
Bought a DJI Zenmuse gimbal works flawlessly
Also reused an old Fatshark 5.8ghz receiver I had spare, put it on some strip board and wired it all up to a cheapy LCD screen. Will be ok for lining up shots

Told you ..
BTW if that was a second hand or old-stock F550 kit make sure you swap out the props for the new type.. The old ones are made of Moth wings.

They were the old style props, strangely the new ones I ordered from the states arrived last night.

Heres some screen captures of some video I took over the school the other day - excuse the poor facebook compression

Yeah.
Regarding FPV I have tried both Immersion RC stuff and DJI stuff, in terms of the OSD anyway, and I by far think the DJI stuff beats the Immersion stuff.
Regarding viewing the FPV again I prefer an actual mounted screen on my TX than goggles.

The iOSD is integrated with Naza so its always going to be better .. EZOSD was never really supposed to be for multi's it was originally developed for fixed wing.

Fitted the Aeroxcraft cnc arms, they are rather nice, lighter than the plastic ones, obviously less flexible and also act as heat sinks for the motors. I also like how the escs fit into their own recess

The guy at work flew the phantom 3 into a tree trunk trying to fly fast and low. So that was the end of my drone experience. Boss was going to get one but its caused controversy in the village.

Aluminium arms are a bad idea for several reasons:
1) Less durable.
2) More expensive to replace.
3) They transfer more vibrations from the motors/props.
4) Dangerous as fuck.

I did wonder about vibrations as they are more rigid, as soon as I get some light to video I can do some testing.
Regarding the extra cost to replace, if it crashes hard enough to break an arm I will have a lot more to worry about then 12 quid for an arm

Not true, I've had loads of crashes where arms and props were the only thing to be damaged.

....The point is the arm and the prop take the impact, they are also disposable

Do you anything about fitting a turn knob in place of one of the switches on the radio?
My problem is the DJI gimbal doesn't support a stick rate mode, meaning I have no manual control over the tilt angle, only what is set at each end point on the switch as the DX7 doesn't have any turn knob switches.
I can get around this my going into the travel adjust and doing it in there whilst in the air, however would be nicer to use a turn knob
