had another good blast round bits of bike park lakes today. some ace descents round here if you have the legs to bike up to them. one of the lads who runs tubeless had to put a tube in, operation failed completely. still fail to see the benefits.

thing is I know the guy and he is pretty handy on a bike but the data don't lie as this segment is the 1st of a 2 part section and on the 2nd part the data showed he hit 32.9 mph but instantly back down to 18 its a pretty flat flowy trail im pretty sure its a garmin glitch that's allowed him to get both koms

I am very slowly creating a blog site which will feature my charity Lejog and also future cycling based fund raising.
I know few of you followed me on facebook but I was asked by others for details ....so here is my day 1 blog update. I will eventually get around to writing the whole thing up plus info sections for others looking to do the same.
http://claridgecyclingtocurecancer.com/lejog-daily-diary/day-1-lands-end-to-john-o-groats/
will link more on here as and when it is written up!
I also penned another blog while away on how I built up to my first century ride

In other news I got a 48 out of 3300 odd on a segment on strava today. Quite pleased as I'm in my forties and clinically obese.
Small pleasures and all that....

Not a bad day out on the bikes today. Had a works do last night so I felt a bit shit. But collected the bike from getting the rear hubs bearings and freewheel bearing etc fixed after they popped the other day.
Got 17 Pr's on one ride and got a KOM back for my little girl on a segment I'd made for her but some pro rider nobber came out and nicked it!
Fucking suffered for it though hit 102% max heart rate and averaged 91% hit a self propelled 32 mph max speed and nearly puked when I finished. No doubt pro rider was cruising when he did it #wanker

Strava is a pain sometimes. When I just fancy a leisurely ride I remember some sections I'm trying to get better times on, then burn myself out attempting it. I'm 20th out of 887 on one section though which I'm very happy with, though I'd like to crack top ten one day.
What are those Trek Fuels like, are they as decent as they look? I've got a 4500 Disc which I always said I wouldn't sell as I love it to bits, but those Fuels just keep winking at me.

Cheers, does the rear shock lock out at all? I'm a fat fucker and don't fancy bouncing up and down burning precious energy.
Managed a 60 mile ride today for the first time, a blast down to Ellesmere in Shropshire and back. I'm knackered but it was great and I need to work towards the 'magic' 100 mile mark.

Yeah it locks out although tbh you don't really need to on mine it goes up hills fine. Think I've done about 2000 miles on mine since I got it last year and it's been up and down mountains the last 8 months. Good little bike, however if you live down south I'd probably get a 160mm travel bike.
