It's a road Jamie leads to a car park then a trail but nothing stopping you riding back down and doing it again

Nice, did the track itself without it being an event around 3 months ago.

I've walked up Ben Nevis, riding up it must have been challenging!

'with the added bonus of finding dancing cheerleaders, banjo picking rednecks, or a free bar and disco stuck out in the woods somewhere.'
I wouldnt make it back.

This went from fort William then on to Ben Nevis where the course went around Ben Nevis itself it didn't head up to the top of it still some crazy sections on there though I watched a video of one of the descents and there must of been 50 bikes broken on the sides of it

Best way to get your fitness up is to go do events as you push yourself harder than you realise you can. Well, if you are that way inclined.

Well after last nights ride I can say that a 29er rigid single speed isn't for me just yet. Was good to go out with some more experienced riders learnt quite a bit just need to change to winter tyres because my tyres just don't like mud

Did a "50" mile Sportive this morning.
Abut 2 miles in my friend and I were at the front of a group of about 10-12 guys, about 23mph according to my GPS. Heard this skidding sound, turned round and this geezer has completely stacked it and is fucked, unconscious in the road. We turned round to try help but turned out 3 of the guys were paramedics. How fucking lucky is that
Any way this guy was messed up ambulance came and sorted him out, pumped him full of all sorts of drugs. When I finished the sportive found out he pretty much broke his face/cheekbone/nose and discombobulated his elbow which I saw and was rank!
Was about 45 mins trying to help where I could. Felt a bit helpless really though.
Any way the Sportive ended up being just shy of 60 miles with about 3000 feet of climbing. Felt ok in the legs on a hilly course. It was in the Purbecks so the hills are short and steep mainly. I ended up cycling with the paramedic guys and my mate, did a fair bit of work on the front in the wind which really I havent been able to do for long before so was pleased with that.
The time on my Garmin was 3 hours 45 and 20 seconds though I reckon my official time is going to be nearer 4 1/2 hours due to the stricken rider!
Pretty pleased though overall, going to have a day or 2 off though, really dug deep for the last 5 miles and proper pushed myself.
