Yes the sheared wheel bolt is finally out!! Special thanks to joe and bigron for the advice!

It may not have been the best time to do it as it was -1 but needs must.

the caliper carrier bolts were a bastard to remove. I couldn't get them undone so sprayed some wd40 on them and waited for my dad to come and help (do the job).

Disc and hub seperated:

Offending bolt:

Also re-fitted my undertray, finally:

And tried to check my soft top drains, but couldn't figure out how to do it :-(

Also getting the hang of doing controlled drifts (albeit with traction half off). It's quite fun and very safe as the compuyers pull you back in line.

Makes you feel like a pro

They seem very tail happy tbh.

Last night, I pulled out on a dual carriageway, touched the throttle gently and the arse end came right out. Sport mode was on though. Without it, the power delivery is much more linear and less instant.

Probably looks shite outside, will have to get some empty car park vids.

yes very much so! It's very predictable so it's not as scary as when it first happened.

NEED TO DO:

- Weld backbox hanger back on
- Replace auxillary belt
- Find out why heated rear screen doesn't work
- fix locking fuel flap that doesn't lock and buy another fuel cap
- Check soft top drains
- Sort out drivers window
- Fit undertray

just had a look as i wasn't sure and found this:

quote:
they are completely different, you have open diff, the ///Ms have a proper locking differential.... its a very nice piece as well....

so the standard z4's just have a normal open diff and the z4m's have the proper one.

who said RWD BMW's were crap in snow?

the focus got stuck in my street, so abandoned that and decided to take the z4 out. no problems at all even with tyres with just 3mm tread on the rear.

been playing in empty car parks all day, enjoying some sliding action with traction aid's off.

road outside my parent's was ungritted and managed that fine:

done some snow ploughing:

and took some random pics:

i have got a video of me having some fun but it's uploaded without sound, so will have to sort that out.

yes, it's a pro drifter video only doing about 5mph, but still looks good.

i'm not in work until tomorrow night so going to go out during the day and find some nice empty spaces without having the missus moaning at me

Wheel refurb! Haha leave them satin, decided they look shit silver. Anyone who has them wheels in silver are daft and should be punished with loads of snow

i've seen them in anthracite and they looked rather nice.

they need doing anyway. i caught one of them on a curb a month or so ago, and my dad dropped one on it's face, cracking the powdercoat around the edge whilst fixing the ARB link arms

good effort.

It's those slides which feel awesome from inside the car, but look really slow from the outside

the 2 astras were handbraking up the top, saw me doing it properly and promptly drove away

Nitro car the kid love it, his dad not so much.

John - I never noticed how bright they are before tonight. Going to put the standard bulbs back in, I think. Looks like I have neons currently
