Also spec changed, ended up going for forged pistons so they had to get made to suit + had to wait for head to get port bored...2-3wks on that then finish porting, get guides fitted + seats cut etc, then having block bored, etc, lad who does my machining is shit hot but can take abit too long at times as their that busy. So all takes time and most of its out my hands tbh.

I know what your saying, but 5months for a maybe two hours work, I'd vote with my feet and take it else where, I've used a few engineering companys with work and the ones that don't do the work when they say will, or can't fit me in then I don't go back.
Honest I'm not knocking your work, it's just I'd rather pay more and have it done in a reasonable time fram.

i know what you mean matey, but the lad who does all my seat cutting etc is the best around and i dont trust anyone...and thats the biggest thing when doing work for other people. but try getting a set of pistons made....they dont do them straight away, they do them on batch runs, also with cams they took a couple of weeks as bespoke. off the shelf parts i could build in a couple of days with the machining out the way no problems.
and theres not 2 hours work in shimming, porting, building a head, dialling cams in, cleaning parts etc.

had a early start today had to take my wheel on the vectra for welding as i have clacked it in 2 place , got that back and on the car by about 11 and the rest of the day was spent on the corsa
8v baffle plate fitted
sump fitted with corect bolts and all torque up and sandwich plate and filter fitted
then spant about 2 hours fitting the inlet as the bolts had to be grinded down and the inlet had to
this pic shows how tight it is
then took it of the stand and fitted the flywheel
then clutch
then spent about 30 mins trying to fit the gearbox, didnt rember it being this fucking heavy , prob looked quite funny as the engine was on the crane and whenever i tried fitting it the engine would just swinglol
then crank sensor
rear water bar and hose
then alt, starter and loom, hit a prob here tho as went to measure up for a alt belt but i gave greg the wrong upper pully so i have diffrent amount of groves so need to go rob it back
then fitted exhaust studs
and then it was time to fit it
went in quite easy actualy just a bit of use with the pry bar to get the rear mount lined up
also fitted the covers
and the parts bench is getting a bit emptier now
tomorows jobs include, turbo ,manifold, wastegate, throtle cable clutch cable, shafts and see what else i can get through

Good work mate, I'd be afraid to take it out of the garage after all that!

Get 2 slim line fans and put them on the front of the radiator between the intercooler and rad, will free up space in bay and look neater.

Easier for him to cut exact pieces than to buy one I would imagine.
Incredible car, actual nut and bolt rebuild. Can't wait to see it on the move
