I photograph it in colour in a little setup i made with a curve of white card and a little LED light. Then in Photoshop make it B+W, cut the subject out, the bottle or whatever, and add a red colour cast to the background Ive done a few more now....

Project Title: Photo Story: Dyptich, Triptych and Polytych Narrative
Aims:
To produce a coherent body of practical work that is defined in clear narrative and dyptich, triptych and polytych technique.
To produce a 500 word report FOR EACH photo story outlining your influences and approach.
Brief:
Produce THREE pieces of work:
1.A dyptich
2.A triptych
3.A polytych
The themes are FEAR, HOPE and SPIRITUALITY. You can choose your own genre (i.e. landscape, fashion, portraiture). The images must link together via a clear narrative (this can be either visual, text based or both). It can be shot in either digital or film, colour or monochrome but MUST be submitted as prints – minimum size of 10x8
.
You must submit a 500 word report (typed) for each photo story that explains your influences and approaches. All work submitted must meet academic standards.
Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this assignment you should be able to:
Research, develop and execute three photo stories with substantial accompanying text
(500 word report on your subject matter)
Produce a body of practical work that demonstrates a professional level of communication, technical application and explores an understanding of narrative and the concept of dyptich, triptych and polytych.
Assessment Criteria
Development 20%
Research 10%
Technical Application 20%
Presentation 20%
Self evaluation 30%
Minimum tangible evidence of study
Handing in reports, photographic prints and module file to deadline.
Late Submission
Please note that the penalty for late submission is as follows:
1-5 days late: a maximum mark of 40% can be awarded after 5 days: a mark of 0% is awarded
