I don't support Utd. The Ronaldo of the past two seasons is 100times better than the Ronaldo fergie first signed. I'm not saying he'll have a ready made replacement but i think Utd have enough to get by for at least a season whilst someone new comes in and starts to gel. I don't think he needs a ready made replacement as Rooney will be twice the player without Ronaldo there.

The Cantona reference was started by the media, shame some people believe it.
I'd say Torres was more suited to Cantona's style

Why will he be twice the player? Its not like they clashed in where/how they played. Tevex and Rooney Id agree with, but not Ronaldo and Rooney.
And sorry, that would explain you saying that about Berb. I doubt a United fan will think the same, its like me comparing Cisse (all the talent in the world just didnt show it) to Dagliesh.

Maybe he means Rooney will have more oppertunities playing upfront?

Can't compare berb and cantona tbh, no chance is he worthy of that comparison
Rooney will florish without tevez. Berb will shine more without ronaldo (a different style of play) but not replace ronaldo.
Nani should visit the job centre, tosic looks promising but i dont think he's ready yet. Valencia would need to massively improve, ribery is stupidly over-priced, plays in a pub league so cannot see how he's worth so much
20million for some brazilian that hasn't played at the level the PL is, is a joke. He'd be overpriced at 10 million

So basically Strick you are agreeing that replacing Ronaldo and what he brings to the team is close to impossible?
Oh, and your comments about Berb there are close to what we said you've said in the past

I'm a bit miffed we won't be getting Benzema, he looks quality.

Again though he will be coming from a crap league. Not saying he wouldnt be a smash (he could be the best player to ever grace the PL), but Cisse was amazing in the french league, outscoring Drogba year upon year....yet!

I never retracted what i said? Berbatov will improve next season, he'll score more goals and get more assists
Ronaldo was the best player in the world for two seasons, and second best last season, so common sense dictates that replacing him is impossible striaght away. Someone will come in and do a good job, but replace him won't happen for a couple of years.
But then again, i do believe ronaldo won't be as good a player at real madrid as he was at OT

I thought Cisse looked good for Liverpool, the fact that hes Mr Glass went against him.

I also doubt we'll get him, but that talk about wanting to stay another year will soon drift if an offer comes in and he thinks about it. Coming to a top team in europe from lyon will in no way harm his chances of getting in the french squad

Now Ronaldo has left I think Utd will be stronger a team.
Last season he was being a prick and trying to beat folk on his own for a lot of the games (Wigan away springs to mind, even CL Final) not to mention all his little strops when being subbed, not playing. I reckon the dressing room will be a better place without him.
Fair enough he'll be hard to replace as an individual, but a unit, I think Utd might come out of this stronger.

Very true, we'll score more goals as a team without him, he shoots in many situations when he could pass. But it's his moments of genius and ability to score a goal from nothin that we'll miss
EDIT - Reads as if i think we'll replace his goals no problem, that's not the case

-------------------------VDS------------------------
Rafael---------Ferdinand------Vidic-------Evra
-------Carrick------Scholes-----Anderson-----
----------------------Rooney----------------------
-----------Berbatov--------Benzema------------
They only really need Benzema and their first team is still capable of winning the league. Although I'm not saying they will.

Quite like that line up
Would like Hargreaves in there though, provided he can make a come back, would be in place of either Carrick or Scholes depending on the game for me.

Replace Scholes for Hargreaves and Rafael for Brown and that'll be a very very good first team
Maybe even VDS for Foster
Rafael will be top class, but needs to develop more positional skills
---------------------Foster------------------------
Brown---------Ferdinand------Vidic-------Evra
-----Carrick-----Hargreaves-----Anderson---
----------------------Rooney----------------------
-----------Berbatov--------Benzema------------
6 English players

I rate Rafael, I rate Brown, but O'Shea is worse than both yet got more games near the end, too wasteful.

Brown was injured near all of the season
Rafael was very good going forward, he just found himself in bad positions a few times in defence, which i imagine is why o'shea got more games at the end of the season, will all help rafael learn
