Been pottering about under the bonnet the last few days trying to make it a lot tidier, before everything was everywhere. So the first thing I attacked was the engine loom, most of it got disconnected bits chopped off and then re routed in the bay most of it out of sight , bonnet cable has been re-routed too, can't be seen now which made me happy as it always pissed me off

How it was left last night, had to take the front bumper off as there wasn't enough clearance to get the manifold in any other way.

Took a couple of snaps of the bay, I'm still not 100% satisfied with it but its getting there, theres still some of the loom I want to hide but I will need to extend parts of it so that can wait for another day. Just got the speedo drive to wire up, a bit more plumbing and to fit the battery and I think thats it done in the bay which will leave the rest of the exhaust to fit and that be it

RAWRRR

Going to paint the cross member black again while the bumper is off, the silver annoys me as you can see it through the bottom grill of the bumper

I've been thinking that my self recently Dan as I've scratched it quite a bit with working around it so much so it needs painted anyway. Was thinking about putting it back to the standard Silver with red plug cover.

How did you manage to hide the Bonnet cable? Through the wing, then over top of headlight then top slam panel?

Looks good!

I said the exact same thing to my dad tonight about you saying not to paint the rocker until we're finished and now scratched to hell , oh well, gave me a chance to see what the red looked like, going to put it into the original colours I think.

I opened up the plastic sheathing that the headlight loom is in and put the bonnet cable in there and there taped it back up, the only place its visible is where its running along the slam panel

I'll think about giving you a break , always plenty I can ask you

Bonnet cable, The best thing to do is get a longer cable, run it along the bulkhead behind another pipe or similar, then run it into the chassis leg and then up into the slam panel, completely hidden then.

Done the above on my nova, however my corsa ive just run it with other pipes/wiring, I Will be doing the above on it before too long.

I was going to run it behind the chassis leg but thought it might not be long enough so tried it this way, its mostly hidden anyway, can only see about a foot of it where the loom wrap ends.

Its a non a/c radiator Jeddy, why you ask?

Fan got fitted and wired up today, wired up the speedo drive and fitted the rest of the coolant hoses I have so thats another couple of jobs ticked off

Whats left to do? I'm 2 hoses short so I need to source them, one being the left rad hose and the other being the long hose that goes from the header tank to the rad. And that will see the plumbing completed. Exhaust system needs fitted, only got the manifold on atm, ignition coil needs mounted up some where, interior needs re-built, need brake fluid and brakes bled and gearbox oil so still quite a bit to do. Probably a few jobs I've missed too.

Painted the lower cross member with black stone chip stuff today, looks a lot tidier IMO, no more gay silver showing through the lower grille.

And then with that done I was bored so went to visit the grand parents, as you do , anyway, my old GSI bumper I gave to my granda to run up to tip with for me, he never went, so I nabbed it back to try a little something

The bumper debate lives on
