all i had was a junior hacksaw and some masking tape. held it up when i had finished and it definitely looked better. it actually sits in the horizontal part of the bumper, rather than hanging down over the lower grille.

kyle being the fantastic bloke he is, measured his plate for me and gave me the dimensions so i'm going to order one from fancyplates. the measurements of my cut down one were 450x90mm, whereas his are 460x100mm, so only 10mm difference.

it also keeps the policeman happy unfortunately our legal system means having a smaller plate can result in £60 fines, which i'm not keen on getting.

I used a jigsaw with my plate and is perfectly straight, cant say you've done the best of jobs I forgot you had a full sized reg number, would look much better with a cheap private plate on imo.

A jigsaw would've been better

Smoothed the edges and lines on the plate so it's all legal until the new one comes through:

Car is proper filthy, hasn't been washed in ages. Also went down some extremely wet and dirty country roads and ended up at epping forest:

Put the steering wheel and tailgate badges on:

Unfortunately the bonnet one doesn't sit flush. I knew this before I got it as everyone has the same issue. Theres a bump on the bonnet plastic underneath with needs cutting down with the dremel. You can see the top doesn't sit properly here:

And finally got my magnetax holders stuck on as I had been driving around with no tax disc on show for more than a month (other one is my work pass):

And yes, I will be stealing any good ideas my cars twin brother (gav's) does

The plate isnt legal by the way, you were meant to leave the top and bottom and just cut the sides down to match the gap, well that's what i thought you were planning on doing.

The badges are nice, although i do like the standard bmw badges

As said, he's got a "proper" trimmed down plate on order which will have the required 11mm margin all the way around, like my avatar.

Yeah I know it's not strictly legal in the sense it doesn't have a bs mark or plate manufacturer, but it's better than having no plate on at all.

Got my centre caps on. Easy job but the wheels need removing to pop the old ones out.

I need new wheel badged but the wheels need refurbing first they will do for now, just the odd bubble in places.

Haha stealing ideas, I'm way behind you.
Think I'm keeping the tango look tho, I like it for some reason. Just want the white bit on the rear light doing in red. Don't like each light not matching

yeah the orange bits in the rear light do date the car. red laminex or tint spray seem to be the best solutions, and i think the orange still shines through.

lost a headlight bulb on the drive today so either 4300k or 6000k HID's will be ordered next week.

also decided to have another bash at the front badge. was advised by a member on a z4 forum that taking away some plastic from the sides of the badge would make it sit better (he had to do the same), so had a bash at it.

a much better result, sits near enough exactly the same as the original badge.

it's really dirty. quickly done the focus before it got dark but didn't have time to do mine.

i have the Msport steering wheel which is chunkier and has the black spokes. bloke before me put it on. i don't know how a standard one feels so can't compare, but it looks nice.
