So the wheels/tyres weigh 12kg according to Ted Kravitz. Steve must be strong to be able to pick them up with a finger.

A spec of dust weighs nothing but if it went through your forehead at 10000 mph it would do some damage.

Ahh makes more sense why I couldn't find that specific number when searching for it then.

Went out and set the race to record. Came home to be greeted by a message saying the recording was interrupted due to a power cut.
Cunt. It only recorded 77 mins so didn't record any of the race. Had to settle for watching awfully edited highlights.

Wasnt exactly a classic anyway, highlights was all that race needed.
Start. Webber's wheel twatting a camera man. Escaping Marussia. Raikonnen chasing Seb. Hamilton overtakes Button round the outside of turn 2. End.

All right lets all calm down. perhaps one finger was an exageration but they are fecking light, they had a wall with all bits of f1 car you couldpick up and it was all stupidly light, most of it didnt feel strong enough. They had a road wheel and an f1 side by side for comparison, magnesium alloy, i have no idea how they make them so light yet strong enough, feels like a plastic wheel in terms of weight

I'm sure the camera man was thinking this feels incredibly light as it smashed in to him

I didn't even notice the cameraman being hit by the wheel at the time just watched it again and saw it.
I was wondering how he didn't manage to notice a wheel coming towards him, then realised he was videoing a lotus. Was all rather comical tbh. Shame he got hurt though.

I'm pretty sure those f1 engines are loud steve. They aren't 1.6 supercharged engines m8.

Dunno tbh, there was barely enough time for anyone to react or predict the way that tyre was going to move. Even if he was alerted, I reckon with that big old camera on his shoulder he would have struggled to react in time.
Scary stuff, could very easily have been the second fatality in as many months.

Thats rather crap. Will we still get decent footage of pit stops?
It's hardly going to stop the same thing happening again, it'll just hit someone more ''important'' to the team.
