Im not certain. Essien is a quality player no doubt. But ballack and deco are past their best years, although like you say Deco did look good for Portugal. Think if they loose Lampard will be a big blow for them.

All 3 players were born within months of each other

Really? Always assumed Essien was younger. Ah well we'll see next season

Lifted from 606...

Quite a funny quote today in the Mirror.

Whilst talking about the possible move to liverpool for robbie keane, Derek Mcgovern wrote the following quote:

"Robbie Keane has played for some of the biggest teams in Europe, as well as Spurs."

He obviously means that Spurs are bigger than any other club in Europe.

Berbatov should be alright with Utd, partnership with Keane is good and he drops off and links the midfield.

Loan deal has another season to run. I think we'll sign him.

Whats £32m on top of what we already owe. Arsenal will go bankrupt before us, what with the lack of trophies and all

I am liking our more aggresive transfer activity this year. Benitez has identified people who he thinks are shit hot and is going after them regardless of there position in the current team, we have been far too polite in the past regardless of whether these come off (barry and keane). I would rather keep alonso and get keane and miss out on barry than the other way round. I think keane would add another dimension to our team
