Small update.

Xenons aren't built yet. Shroud still not arrived from USA. Bad timing as some moisture got into my headlamp and it blew up also sheared off my fucking earth bolt Got wet the other day as alarm failed to put the window up so car is covered in towels and a dehumidifier box from Homebase. It's a fucking shambles really feel like throwin in the towel tbh.

But these will hopefully lift my spirits...

Genuine AMG paddles. Metal, small mounting surface so better than the E90 ones. Proven to work, just need to cut my new steering wheel now... Eek!

Paddles

Are they just momentary push to make and you wire them in parallel with some existing switch somewhere or is there more to it than that? Also you need to get the wires down the column somehow? Very nifty if you can pull it off.

Yeah I had a theory it would work, tracked down some German dude who had done it (used different paddles though) and saw it possible. It's just piggybacking the micro switches used for +/- gears on the stick. Run the wires from the assembly up to the steering wheel. Slip ring from E39 swap two wires over and plug it all in.

A firend on another forum has completed it ahead of me all works 100%

i went with 55w and 4300k - pretty sure given the correct alignment with the moon i could now see through time with them

4300k-5000k is white light. The "blue" tinge you see one factory xenon lights is simply the angle you view the cutoff from. People mistake this and get 8000k blue bulbs and drive around looking like dicks.

Thanks mate.

My xenon build wasn't strong enough and the shrouds have popped off and during adjustment the projectors moved in their mountings. So they are coming out again for me to re do. I fixed my dodgy headlamp that blew so I will just stick with the old candles until I can sort this out properly.

Added to the rather long list of things to do. If it wasn't bloody dark all the time I could do it all in a week
