So then, the swivel balls are leaking both sides, and as its due mot soon decided to get them and the seals changed.
Wheel off
Hib assembley/disc off
Half shaft extracted
Swivel ball housing
removed and cleaned up
The swivel ball
Bad pitting on the ball, which causes damage to the seal

Loosely assembled all that in the housing etc
Fitted on the vehicle and set the preload with my spring balance. needed to add a shi, in the top bearing
Stub axle back on
Nice new swivel ball installed

Just read through this thread cannot fault the work that's gone into it it's awesome and looks great but for fuck sake stop fucking around with it and go and use it for what it's designed go and get some mud on it
I'd bought a lift kit wading kit and snorkel before I'd picked my disco up soon as I got it the carpets were out and it was submerged in mud and getting scraped down trees not mincing through puddles in tescos car park

I don't see what the issue is? Steve may enjoy building cars to a high standard and the project is more entertaining than the actual application of the car.

It's like bigron building his corsa then using it to potter round in and never showing it a drag strip, or a 200sx and not skidding it, certain cars are built for certain applications, I appreciate it's a good project I also find it good to follow, it's only banter, but it is screaming to be off-roaded...... Just once.....

Alright then bitches, started about my EGR removal, the aim to remove all this crap
Part removed
All the crap removed
The area now
Always pretty dubious about the claims of doing these types of things, but actually it has dramatically reduced the amount of black smoke when booting it, its almost nothing now
