Not much progress but I've been sorting the track wheels out, some were peeling and bubbleing pretty bad, nothing too bad though.

This one was probably the worst, you can still see some of it near the valve hole. I started this one last night and did the outer rim and centre, I'm back up there tomorrow so will be doing more.

I'm still in two minds whether to do them black or a silly colour, although I'm swaying more towards black now. I've got some Yokohama a048's, not brand new but they have life left in them.

Yeh I'd stick with black/silver/grey on diablo red (?). Was going to say, seen some used 14" a048's for sale on one of the pug forums I think.

Yeah I got these for a tenner a corner, if I get 2-3 track days out of them I'll be happy.

They will most probably be black, I'd get bored of a daft colour I think.

if your only painting with rattle can's, try it, and if you get bored, its only a few quid for more cans to change the colour

Yeah I'll be doing everything myself, they don't have to be perfect as they will only be used on track.

Did you get a set of the flat seated bolts for the gti alloys? Steelies bolts wont do

My vts wheels were really bubbly and took a shed load of sanding. Got an electric sander on them in the end

I took a wire wheel to one of my GTI wheels when the primer reacted, looked awesome when they were down to the bare metal

New engine will be going in about April, already got the engine sorted as I'm buying it off a mate, just got to pay for it now
