I've done cannock on the occasional weekend, as long as you get there pre-10am you can fly around without getting held up at all. Car Park always heaving when finishing though

Meeting a mate tomorrow out in the little village he lives in in rural Dorset. Going to nail a few biggish climbs over about 45ish miles.

I just go on Tuesday and Thursday, trails are empty, never get held up, don't hold anyone else up. I dropped my bike off to get serviced a few months ago on a Sunday, and I couldn't find a parking space, 'twas heaving!

Simon, do you use a website for looking for MTB events? All I have come across is Gorrick and the Southern XC sites so far, the latter of which hasnt been updated since August.
Just trying to pencil in some dates for next year (if my bike ever turns up)

Wiggle. They do events, about 1/2 dozen mtb a year and loads of sportives.
Plus there is always the Evans ones.

Aware of and have done a load of the Wiggle ones! They're just sportives (as are the Evans ones) I want something a bit more competitive!

Got a bloody boil in the crack of my arse, it hurts like hell after sitting down for a while. Was worried it was a pilonidal sinus after suffering from one a few years back. Anyhow back on it shortly.
In the past few months or so my best mate finished 12 iirc in the three peaks cyclocross event and 12th in the national hill climb championship up Ramsbottom rake.

Thats the company that promote the wiggle series mentioned above!
Over the weekend me and 2 mates decided we are going to enter the london triathlon olympic relay, so one leg each.
Bike leg is 40km so im gonna aim for 1:100 on that leg I think.

Went out for a ride last night and my thigh did what I can only describe as explode. Managed to crawl home at a snails pace but was very uncomfortable. Was a weird pain, my knee felt proper weak too. Going to see someone about it tomorrow. Hope its not too bad.

Is it any surprise? A few of them just seem really ignorant about bikers altogether!

Its just the classic one ruining it for all.
I ride but try not to be a pita when on the road, which I guess most others would. Unfortnuatly there are a set of riders out there who don't care and annoy the drivers out there.

Spot on Gary. I try to be courteous in return to the drivers that are courteous to be, just by saying thanks when they wait for me etc.

Exactly. Same as slowing right down for horses and being ignored annoys me. Its not hard to raise your hand.
Unfortunatly there is a number of riders of both kinds that are ignorant cunts and shouldn't be on the road spoiling it for others

Bradley Wiggins was knocked off his bike last night. I imagine he was riding like a dick and deserved to be run over.
