Because im a management accountant and deal with quite a few companies in the modified car industry. Ive also spoken to Jamie a couple of times on the growth of his company.
And I never said I was in a better position I said as good as a position.
Ive done PVD's book keeping for the last 3 years and their accounts for the last 2 years.
A well branded company doesn't need to spend excessive amounts on advertising once it is well established.

agreed, and look what they have to show (tangible wise)
a 100k astra will get.....
6/7 page mag feature AND front cover
several smaller pics throught the year in all sorts of mags
100s of pics of it all over the internet
several pages of discussions like this
sponsorships for wheels,ICE, other bits and improve inter-company relations
pictures of the car in adverts for the companies who suplied wheels, ice etc
possible feature on free DVDs/posters etc with mags
several awards all over the world for best car/ice etc
possible 4/5/6 page features in foreign mags
attracting huge crouds at 20 or so events across the country per year
this will brobs last for 2 years at the speed of the modded car industry these days
now, go and price me up other ways of advertising this company to drum up the same amount of publicity as above and i BET you any money is miles more then 100k, find me the privce of a 1/2 page add in just 1 issue of MAX, REVS etc and u'll see exactly what im on about
PLUS he has one hell of a car at the end of it to sell/keep woth 20k or so

hummm i would only 50% agree with you here donna under these circumstances
the industry is ever changing, people trying to out-do others, and unless u prove that you ARE the best then people will go elsewhere, especially the teenage/young 20s croud who will go whereever they see advertised by OTT cars on the front cover of max lol

Oh yeah I agree with you there but advertising should decrease over years when you start to realise where you're getting the majority of your business from. Then you can start to cut back on advertising where you're not getting enough sales for your costs.

Yeah but if you sale a set of 18's for £800 you only gross profit about 30-35% on that and then you've got to pay all your overheads too. Thats why im saying turnover means shit when you're selling a product its gross/net profit you want to look at.
