The main reason for not choosing the storm range was not the price! .. it was the lack of its efficiency and excursion. Both of which are the opposite for the strike range. .. No I’m not saying the strike is a better sub but in these surroundings it will perform better.
Most people have a very popular misconception with what a high power or an expensive sub can achieve. Generally not SPL (definitely not in this case!) The strike is more efficient, works in a much smaller enclosure and more importantly matches the transfer function of the corsa. If we used the storm we’d have to tune the boxes between 65 and 85 Hz which for an SQ car would be fine but terrible for a street bass monster!
Batteries – I highly and personally recommend the Exide Maxima battery. Far far superior to the optima. (From an SPL perspective) The yellow top has a weakness being its discharge and recharge properties. If used for normal everyday use they seem to perform well, but when used extensively the battery memory seems to take over.

im not complaining about your choices at all, im incredibly impressed. However, 2 1000w RMS subs are fine for me. Im not paying 1000s for a proper tuned install, at least at the moment. 0.4 ciubic feet, the minimum reccomended sealed volume for the X1.12.VC2s is hardly exvessive either. And the only reason i went for a yellow top is cos it was reccomended to me.

Sorry maty I wasn't having a dig at you! .. It came out the wrong way..
The 0.4cuf is'nt excessive but its tuned to high .. more SQ orientated. To turn it into a street bass sub woofer we'd have to make the box internaly approx 1cuft and port it. If memory serves me right it worked out at approx 4" by 12" long!!
The yellow top ... not my cup of tea. I used them a couple of times in my own installs and wer'nt that impressed. I think they have a reputation because they were the first on the dry cell scene.
I've PMd you a pric for a maxima.

But if the cars gonneused for SPL would it not be better to have it tuned to arund 65Hz, being eaier to gain higher SPL's at the higher range of frequencies. Or if it wa only for occasional SPL use but mainly street bass(pulling show crowds and turning heads on the street, have a port which yo can change, one for street bass and one for SPL??
