If you don't wanna get caught, don't speed.
If you're going to speed, be prepared to get caught.

agreed, but if i know where this trap is then I'll watch my speed at that area. So by knowing where this location is I'll be safer at that accident blackspot.
unless of course the police don't monitor your speed in accident black spots but hide behind bus shelters on out of town dual carriage ways with unnecessarily low 40mph limits. But the police don't do that, do they

I know where you are. just past the roundabout. seen the fuzz there quite a few times. I've done the same just come off the gas as you come up to it and coast down to the entrance to the airport

lol, i got nabbed there in May '99.
Similar to your situation I didn't brake as I entered the 40 limit. I just coasted down from 80ish. Hiding in the bus shelter. They didn't even try to stop me at the time. Showed up at the door the next morning.
58 in a 40. 3pts £100 fine.

ive done wrong i know that now just hope the cop is sympathetic and only gives me 3 points
i'd say u'll be lucky mate as i said earlier if u get caught at more than 30MPH above the limit, which obviously 80 in a 40 is you are in court

I stopped once when it wasnt even me getting pulled
I saw a group of policeman with a speed camera about 100 yards down the road, slowed up a little just incase and a Focus overtook me, obviously didnt see the cops. Anyway one of them walked into the road and waved him in. I thought he waved me in so i followed the Focus into a lay-by. The cop just came over and aksed why i stopped? I said i thought he was pulling me, he said no and just told me to drive away Didnt argue with that. I wasnt even speeding so dunno why i pulled in, didnt wanna take any chances or risk it i guess.

Oh dear......
I got done for 96 in a 60. Only 3pts and a fine but the failing to stop won't work in your favour.
Best speak to a lawyer ASAP.

yeah plead guilty to the speeding charge but i'd contest the failing to stop.
It's a dual carriageway remember. Did the police man spread himself across both carriageways forcing you to stop or did he simply take one step onto the road with his hand in the air?. He's hardly gonna fling himself out in front of a car travelling at 70mph is he?

i appreciate your honesty but wait until the official court letter comes through then speak to a lawyer.
In my 96 in a 60 incident I was getting threatened with dangerous driving from the police officers. When the court letter came through there was no mention of this.
