havent read the whole post but seems chris and tim have filled you in on most of the relevent info
do piss around with a small turbo, just go for the large turbo version
the wing mirrors and petrol flap are diffrent, as well as the small turbo having a diffrent and more horrible cam cover then the large turbos,
ppl who say the brake are obviosl idiots, they dont brake if there standard, its wheen you run big power and boost things brake, the mt75x (i think) isnt the greatest gearbox for big power, but i can really see you going for 500bhp (or are you

monte is a limited version of the lux spec with diffrent wheels, and diffrent later spec seat with monte written in them, rarer than normal so hold the prices even better, most are small turbo though

The big turbo Escort is good for 380bhp just by fitting 803 injectors, swirl pot, alloy header tank, chip, actuator, uprated fuel pump and map sensor. Could get all that for 1k
