On another point. If you go from a Corsa C to a 106 GTi prepare for a shock with the build quality and generally tinny feel of the car

You are talking complete horse garbage again

I did a 0-60 sprint and hit 60 in 2nd gear ... and tried hitting it in 3rd gear. On the clocks I can do about 65-67 in 2nd, so its about 62 mph in reality.

Both were valid times, 7.3 in 3rd, 6.98 in 2nd.

The gearbox's arn't different, hence if I blow my gearbox on my Gti, I can replace it with a VTS box and it's the same thing.

VTS / GTi use the same underneathe chassis, supsension system, engine, gearbox etc. Yes panels are different, yes interior is different. That's about it.

Yep defo use the same gearbox as my mate put a VTS gearbox in his when he fucked the GTi one. It was just what was available at the time and made no difference

wrong again bawbag

The pug was ace, mine idled well after I cleaned out the throttle body housing, you tend to get a huge build up of crap in there when you add the ram air induction kit

Mine made 148.8 bhp and sounded sweet unfortunatly due to my shite driving skills I could only make a 15.4 quarter mile, my pal did a 15.0 though

lol whata load of crap. pretty much all the gearbox's fit either models.

all the supercharged boyz use vtr boxes as they are longer and can achieve better top end, cammed up ones try to get mk1 rally boxes to get shorter ratio

boxes maybe same fitment but all have different ratios

yes thats true about rallye boxes and vtr boxes, not true about vts and gti boxes.

I had to have a replacement gearbox in my gti, i triedf peugeot and citroen to find which was cheapest, they even both had the same part number!!!! and as it happened the same price

My GTI was a minter but it pissed me off after a while!

Staying with a Focus RS on a rolling start from 20 to 70 impressed me though! RS guy gave me major thumbs up.When you get the revs right they fly.

very true, I recall keeping up with an RS Skoda, he was pulling away through the straights but the pug made up for that in the corners, great handling car

Shame it's french and built like a shoebox

Must have been a UK turbo and with a shite driver who didn't know how to launch it then

My WRX would rape just about any car from a standing start.

i wud hope so a VTR

i used to always race my mate who had a 02 plate wrx type uk prodrive edition

upto 90mph i cud sit with him, after that i was doomed

had loads of fun.

i know a vts 0-100 is 22.4 and an integra type r is 16.5, me mates mildly mod teg when we used to race i used to need back off at 95 or i wud run in his boot

so zorst n filter, manifold cams n chip certainly must of improved my 0-100 dramatically

My GTI...

One thing I love about them is that they look so good standard, dont need much doing to them, one of the reasons I want a new car because im bored of not having something to mod!
