Since when?

In the 70s their Cosuls and Granadas were light weight variants with improved brakes and suspension, and tuned and often enlarged engines.

In the 80s their Rover SD1s were 3.9 litre with Webbers and improved handling and exhausts.

In the 90s, amongst other improvements, their Cosworth Granadas were increased in capacity to 3.2 litres and supercharged.

I find it very hard to believe that the police have given this practise up.

Especially in light of the performance of a lot of modern cars.

IMO its just an old car, dated looks with a good engine.

You will get much more attention driving an enzo down the street than you would a kitted up carlton.

On a track, ferrari wins again.

Pull up outside a club in an enzo or a carlton, i know who wil be taking the girl home

you cant be helped dave, i thought we might be able to rescue you form the debts of loving red shiny cars to much, but no

the carlton will allways be far far cooler than any ferrari, drive a enzo downa street and yes, all the sheep similar to yoruself will be attracted to it, because they know no better

liek i say dave, without re reading you the whole history of how and why the LC came about, you wont understand why its so good

but like any other want to be (insert famous occupation here) you would just go for the handbag car

i didnt even bring the enzo into this conversation, you did

i was quite happy saying how much better it was than its modernday counterpart the EVO

Lovely Jimbo.

I'd ask him if he thought his car was quick in an attempt to bait a race out of him.

the carlton and the enzo are in totaly different leagues the carlton was an engineering brakethrough in the early 90's thats why its still got the respect it deserves

i just brought up the enzo because someone said the carlton was their dream car, just found that a bit odd

I already know the carltons history, and granted back in its day it WAS revolutionary.

But my point is, in this day and age, its not anything special imo. Alot of better cars out there that could show up the carlton in every area.

Im not a wannabe, i would dream to have the best car money can buy, which excels in all areas to warrant paying that amount of money, IMO thiat is in the form of an enzo. If it makes u feel any better i would also drive a McLaren F1, or is that too modern for you?

My bros evo is stil quicker than the carlton anyway :lo:

In that it's a Lotus Carlton Dave.

End of discussion.

If you have to ask, it can't be explained.

It's like asking why is fanny better than no fanny.
