The MG ZT 260 Tom.
It's the one with the Mustang engine.
Before Longbridge and all of it's employees were sold down the river by a small group of thieves, the list price for my car was nearly 31k. A fully loaded SE model was just over 37k.
My car was one of many new vehicles that the administrators shared out among the dealer network, for sale at an enourmously discounted price in an attempt to recoup some losses.
As a consequence I was able to buy a car that i'd always wanted, but never thought i'd own, for just under half price.

No they dont!
The GT500 exists, but the actual model in the film 'Eleanor' was custom designed by Chip Foose. Although there are companies who you can buy official replicas from that Carroll Shelby has signed.
Indeed, the car in the awful remake has cosmetic enhancments, but the GT500 does exist.
I was merely clarifying this for the gentleman in case he was misinformed.
The real Eleanor is in fact a yellow Mach 1.

there is one of these that drives up and down the Kingsway in Swansea, the main street where all the clubs are.
I'm sure some of the other Swansea people on here can confirm this!

So do you own a 260 Jim?
What about the 380, or was that only ever a concept car?

I kid you not i've always wanted one.
Wouldn't mind a v6 406 coupe with some nice rims.
If not it would be a countach or an F50, for some coolness or a Mclaren f1.

Monaro day to day
Possibly a CLK convertible or something, maybe also XKR convertible.
Dodge Ram for the crack, or perhaps some other silly impractical American thing with huge wheels.
Aerial Atom or a Lotus 340R
F40 if I had too much money, or perhaps a Murcielago, in white.

Yes I do Tom.
And the 380 was the supercharged version of the car and was in the process of all the pre production testing and approval/legislation and development work when MG Rover was murdered, so the car was killed off just prior to it's birth.
A bit like shooting an 8.5 month pregnant woman in the head realy.
There is at least one pre-production car in existence, but it is purely a development mule, and as such, not road legal to my knowledge.
There was one auctioned off a while back, and this may well have been the same car.
The good news is that all 260 owners with 6k to spare can have 405 bhp and 420 lb ft by having the good people at Dreadnought carry out one of their supercharger conversions, thus exceeding what the 380 would have been.
It's a beautiful conversion and looks completely factory, and I plan to have one done in about 5 years when the car's paid for and i've saved up enough dough.
You can have about 600 bhp and lb ft, but that would require even bigger brakes, a stronger transmission and preferably wider wheels and tyres, which would need body mods.
