Motorway fastness - LET...

Track Days - Keep yours and TB it, or put a standard 2.0 in and rag it all day without worry. If it goes bang, £300 buys you a new engine....

1/4 mile .. Well I think GAZ has proved which is the best combination. XE and Nitrous.... For the total of about £2k and he's doing 11's.. Thats so much cheaper than any LET, and quicker over the 1/4.

tbh dude, if you want a turbo, your better off either buying an already converted one, and just rebuild it, or, buy a whole standard car with a LET and strip it for parts....

Donna cut the costs of the conversion loads by buying a whole calibra turbo...

But as im finding out fella? Fast corsa, or bigger faster car, that you can also tune, and go even faster.......

Id pick the LET personally as mentioned BHP per £ is most.

As Daimo says Gaz proves a good combo is XE + gas, BUT that gas is expensive and a full throttle run IIRC is 12minutes to the smaller bottle. so itd be expensive to run on the road!

1.6 i have no experience with but im guessing as fad mentions it was be an awesome nippy responsive drive.

My let corsa wasnt the best handling car ive ever driven...BUT its simply the most fun ive ever had in a car. Ever.

In gear times on Mway is quite simply breathtaking.

1.6 for me, cheaper tax and insurance, weighs less , can get near 200bhp from it, cheaper to run, easier to fix maybe....

In my eyes a LET wouldnt suit your car, the stripped out clean look needs throttle bodies.

If i was you i would go for an XE, rebuilt bottom end, head work, cams, jenevy bodies, emerald/omex management and aim for about 210 bhp

would still be reliable for the miles that you do, you could neaten the bay up hide the wiring etc

and it would still go like feck, add a nice diff unit as well and on track it would be a weapon

fast in a straight line but will probably need a full rebuild as most are hammered by now: LET

fun, cheap, responsive, reliable and good handling: 1.6 on tb's

or do the best of both and build a Z18XE on tb's after driving the 1.8 sri for a few weeks im seriously thinking about buying a Z18XE and having a go at this myself!
