maybe i wanted to learn something today?
maybe i wanted a polite reponse to a reply which was essentially a question?
maybe i'm used to people who are helpful?
maybe i'm asking too much?

whats the majot huppla about an MBC...
I had one on my PuntoGT.... great bit of kit for the cost!!!
Its a manual boost controller, rather than a bleed valve if you catch my drift.
It peaked, and held a stable boost compared to a bleed valve peaking mega high and falling all the way down.
If you have a brain you wont setup the MBC to boost high.... as you'd still have your boost at red line... youd set it up to be sensible as its holding that boost (like an electronic boost controller!!!!)
I've had the following
Blitz D-SBC-R
Blitz SBC-S
MDC
2way bleed
The best goes like this...
DSBC-R (£500) Held boost great.... could program how the boost came in etc
MBC (30 or so) Held boost fine, easy to setup and adjust
2 way bleed (20) - pish
SBC-S - super pish.... didnt rate it at all
Also had an Apexi AVCR somewhere doen the line but sold it on before fitting....
These are all across 3 cars.... Supra, Skyline, Punto

no point in manual boost controllers for ECU controlled cars, if the ecu is only requesting certain boost levels thats all the car will give.

it really really is just a bleed valve
yes but you could say the same thing about the apexi, just its digital.

Steve - hmmm...
Why do you say that? An electronic boost controller will do the same
Midland - Thats what i'm menaing... they are the same.

i can only comment on my VAG engine but to have any effect you will need to rip out a number of valves to make a MBC have any hope of working, N75 valve as well as the N249 valve, im sure there are similar tpyes on other ECu controlled cars
