Im happy with it as it is at the moment but will keep it in mind...
They're that kinda thing. A few resistors, diodes and caps in a box to trick the ECU into throwing in more Fuel and up the boost. They seem to be good though for what they are.
I.
"They're that kinda thing. A few resistors, diodes and caps in a box to trick the ECU into throwing in more Fuel and up the boost. "'m only 21, but have 4Yrs NCB. Corsa is £400 to insure, Astra was about £850, and the VXR £1050.. cheaper than a CTR to insure" - This is extremely cheap ...im 24 with 5 years NCD protected with 3 points and no accidents...1 theft claim...on a car that is in a lower insurance bracket..

I'm Sorry . I just double checked to make sure I was getting my figures right. Quoted for a 2006 3dr Astra 150 SRi CDTi. 12k miles a year, kept on the driveway. It's £674.10 without protected NCB . £817 with
VXR is £1,156.05 With Protected, £952.35 without

technically, that's all your ECU is anyway, so it's only doing the same thing .
The digital box seems a bit better, but i wouldnt rule them out personally untill id dug a little deeper into what they are and what they do differently from a re-map .

Nothing dodgy at all. Any CDTI owner with half a braincell is running them. As i've said, join Astra-sri.co.uk and speak to Andrew888. He runs DTUK. He will answer any questions you have.

So you have used one then??? Nah didn't think so......50bhp gains plus shed loads of torque for good money. Proven results. No crap involved at all.

I have a power box on my cdti and it makes it a significantly better drive.
It pulls much much better all the way through the revs and it is definitely not just me thinking it goes faster.
I haven't tried an ebay resistor but if they done as good a job as this box it would be well worth the 15 quid or whatever they cost.

I don't have any graphs.
I can believe the power and torque increase claims though and i'm sure you would be happy about the improvement for not much over 100 quid.
Even if you had no power gains it makes it much better to drive.

Go to www.dieseltuning.co.uk
These aren't £15 ebay jobs. They cost real money because they do a real job. Your looking at £285ish for a DTUK Greenbox.
But as I keep saying...go on www.astra-sri.co.uk and chat to a few people on there with DTUK boxes. Theres even a dedicated DTUK thread!

Just kerbed one of my alloys...some prick parked at the junction on the end of my road meaning I could only get home up my road by bumping up a kerb...as I was coming off the kerb I heard that crunch noise that you dread... scratched the alloy quite badly along the rim and one of the spokes...
Anyone recommend any alloy wheel refurbishers in the North west?
Gutted is not the word....had the fucker all of 5 days...pissed off
