I know it's not of much use, but when I was a VxSCC member, our region implimented a £1 fee per person to attend the meets, then you got your pvs ticket paid for (as the tickets were £8) and billing ticket too.
That wouldn't necessarily work in this case, but something similar might? offsetting the cost of the 'membership' against a ticket

But now we're charging for the sake of charging?
The beauty of the setup we currently have is that the premium membership fee's pay for flags, balloonns, tents, chairs, the van, the beer etc etc
Its all free & all you have to do is turn up to show, which is what we want.

under vboas guidlines this is not possible, charging is unavoidable imo

I wouldn't have any problem paying extra to show, and I think a lot of people would agree.

I agree, it seems they are very keen for us to have a "club" membership fee

thats what i think jr, the system is in place all it need is a few rules regarding tickets to shows changing, it not that good for people who dont pay to not be able to get tickets, but imo thats tough luck, it will deffo generate more revenue for the site and be an added benefit of being a premium member

That was our argument Steve, if we don't have to charge why should we?
They would rather us show them some flashy membership cards instead of some initiative

IMO you dont even need to pay extra, just be a PM
then
we get info
no extra fees for the sake of charging
no extra memberships etc

If people don't want to attend Billing then become a Prem member, if they do they can become a Club member, that way you would also filter out the people that you don't really want at Billing anyway

for what you allready get i dont think £1 is alot
of why not at the start of the show season have a month where new members can sign up for PM for £6.25, then they get a year of showing with CS, realise no club comes close corsa wise and are in, then they wont leave and youve got them

no point in that ojc there is still a charge, just add it on to the premium member benefits, maybe rename premium member club member or something

If you lower the preem slightly to 10 pounds it would attract more people, then offering a club membership of £5 to attend shows etc people can get what they want - remember not everyone cares for a avatar/garage just as much as others dont care for shows, & this shouldnt make CS out of pocket because the lower preem membership would be counteracted by the club fee.

too complicated, the ONLY way i can see this working is
a) Rename Premium Membership > Club Membership
b) add it onto the newly named club memberships offers of tickets to shows
c) keep the price the same
thats it, thats all you can do

No you will be charging people for what they want to use - preem funds will still roll in & be used to run the site.

i see what you mean colin, but just make PM more of a bonus than it is
loads of people like youself arent going to be at a show, but still pay £12.50
IMO there be loads of people that pay the same, and get more from it as there going to sho
makes the 1 membership (PM) seem more attractive to members that are showing as they get more use from it, therefore there the winners from the situation
