Not really. I can buy a brand new Audi A3 for 22k or I can buy a 2nd hand ex demo thats 6-12 months old for 19.5k.
The finance payments are similar eitherway so may aswell get the brand new one? Then get rid when the 3 years warranty is up?

a much more sensible buy. You wouldnt lose much on that if you kept it in shape.

But Rach would drive it to work everyday and I would be far to protective of it, even more so than a VXR.

No, look we are not buying a Escoss
As much as I would like one they just aren't what we are looking for, when we move out and I have a garage I will build a ERST to the standard of my Nova.
Anyway, Ian buy a Monaro VXR.

Seen the price of M3's now too.. the new shape ones.
Sure i saw one for sale for 17k
Tuscan for 18k
the list of more 'exiting' cars for the money goes on
more exciting how?? the Monaro is just as tail-happy as the bmw and the tvr, is a sexy looking car IMO, and wont break down nearly as often as a tuscan, and you wont be labelled as an azian gangsta like you would if you drove the bmw.
I disagree with your comments about "large vauxhall". its not really a vauxhall is it, and most people who know what a monaro is, also know that its a rebadged aussie icon. I think in a few years to come, people will begin to appreciate this car far more than what it is now. Its gonna follow the same path as the lotus carlton.
they are immensely fun cars to drive, and pretty much as exciting as any other high power RWD coupe on the market.
