When you get two drivers in more originally expensive motors, it doesn't tend to be a race, more "who dares goes the quickest".
My dad has an E46 M3, I know you can get cheaper ones now, but it is still an expensive performance motor.
A Porsche came up behind me and dad on the A1, so dad pulled over to let is pass, naturally the Porsche driver put his foot down. Dad followed and managed to keep up for a while. Neither cars were taking risks, both keeping their distance etc. There was no traffic in the slow lane so dad and the Porsche pulled into the slow lane. We turned off at the next junction, so dad flashed his full beam out of courtesy, the Porsche driver put his hazards on to say thanks etc then floored it to show off.
I like that kind of playful, but sensible and camaraderie amongst high end performance cars.
Like I said, isn't really a 'race', just a play.
Dad also said at the weekend a new Golf R32 pulled up behind him so dad floored it and the Golf struggle to keep up, dad thought he'd better slow down at double the speed limit on a Sunday afternoon.

I've always loved them Lupo GTi's. Rare little motors.
