Look like we have signed another youngster, 18yr old Francis Duran from Malaga. He is on an 18month load deal costing 66k, and then another 250k to make it permanent at the end of it (June 2008). Havent heard much about him other than he is a midfielder.

That now makes the number of youngsters weve signed this Jan 6....
Francis Duran, 18yr old Spanish midfielder
Jordy Brouwer, 18yr old Dutch forward
Astrit Ajdarevic, 16yr old Swedish forward
Daniele Padelli, 21yr old Italian Goalie
Emiliano Insua, 18yr old Argentinian Left back
Sebastian Leto, 20yr old Argentinian winger

we cant afford to spend £10m or £12m (Bale and Walcott) for young English players. So unless they are already in our youth team (which there are plenty of considering we won the youth FA Cup last year) we have to buy foreign players.

Also looks like we are signing ex Real defender Alvaro Arbeloa from Deportivo la Coruna. He is a right back so will provide cover for Finnan which is what we really needed. Costing somewhere around £2.5m.

TBH I think this is just a temporary solution until we have the DIC money in the summer and can sign Alves or Micah Richards.

Same with Arsenal... if your scouts can prove half as good as Arsenals then youll have a fine lot of young talent on its way up!!

BTW, Warnock was excellent for Blackburn at the weekend... (admittedly against (atm) poor championmship opposition)

He isnt a bad player, but he is very, very injury prone. We used to bet at the match what minute he would get injured in as he would every game more or less.

Finally we sign someone. http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~972940,00.html Looks pretty good to me with an option to buy in the summer. Reportedly he'd been wanted by chelsea

Just signed a left back from Blackburn on loan for a month, Andy Taylor I think he's called.

I totally cant understand this one, we had a perfectly good left back which we have let go, just to buy another one. There are other areas of the field that need strenghening, Midfield & Forwards is where we need the help. Also he's got him for 1 month, whats the point in that, when he goes back we'll have a 17 year old kid to play the rest of the season

Really have no idea what goes through our managers brain at times

It's not all definite yet but apparently the stumbling block was the fact that Luque earns £40k a week for doing sod all at Newcastle and weren't prepared to contribute to his wages anywhere else http://www.newcastle-online.com/luque-completes-psv-move/

Ohright

Quality player but lets face it, should NEVER have left Spain for Newcastle of all places...they seem to suffer the aame prob as SUnderland and Boro... foreigners jus seem not to be able to settle in the NE (can see why to be fair!)

I think he was unlucky with his injury but he seems to have the attitude of someone like Anelka.
He did better than Marcelino though

I think it had more to do with the fact he is lazy and slow rathering than settling into the NE that was the problem for Luque, his lack of commitment is disgraceful and down right shameful, another of Souness' momumental wastes of money I'd be shitting myself if I were a Wolves fan
