Nail and fucking head, the ps3 offers a no better gaming experience than the 360
for now yes i agree. xbox has has a years headstart on the ps3 and microsoft have been developing games for it themselfs. we will see what things are like in a years time, who knows, by then i may own a PS3

I won't buy one, i'm not into gaming enough to have 2 consoles. I play my 360 when I have nothing better to do, its good but some people on here seem to have a worrying fondness for a piece of white plastic.

so far the pros over the 360 that i can see are.
motion sensitive controllers
Rechargable controllers
upto 7 controllers connected (big multi player games)
HDMI
Memory Stick/ SD/ Compact Flash slots
Upgradeable HDD (2.5" SATA ATA)
WIFI <- this is the biggy!
Those are just some of the main reasons why i will buy a PS3 over an 360.

can get rechargable pack for the 360 and wifi via addons. Hard drive can be upgraded, but obviously you void warranty on the 360.
But i agree, there are a few pros over 360

now for the cons
wireless controllers arent quite wireless
online is crapper
no gaymer points system
games arent as good (yet)
cost
in a lot of ways its actually down on performance compared to 360
forced to have blu ray, if it fails your stuffed.
looks fugly (imo)
no backward compatibility in europe

also add harder to make games for, could mean games are either crapper or more expensive.
and if the drm rumours are true you wont be able to buy preowned or 2nd hand games

or MS could easily release a Blu ray add on if HD failed.
why would i need SD slots on my console???
if i want pics/downloads etc i shall just plug my USB hard drive in via the usb slot.

wireless controllers arent quite wireless : ? when you need to charge them up, you put a wire in. you can still play. You have to take the battery out to recharge on your xbox controller. Can't play with no battery
online is crapper : thats just what you hope
no gaymer points system : the games themselfs (resistance, motorstorm) have point systems. Sony will be adding the function soon though. (with Home)
games arent as good (yet) : depends on what you like
cost : your getting more for your money than an xbox. thats why its £125 more
in a lot of ways its actually down on performance compared to 360 : on paper, if the game developers actually make full use of the 7 processors on Cell, then it will exceed 360
forced to have blu ray, if it fails your stuffed. : forced to have a dvd player, if fails your stuffed.
no backward compatibility in europe : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6471649.stm

Do some research please.
Wireless controllers need plugging inot the system to RECOGNISE and configure the wireless, you then unplug them to go wireless.
If the batteries fail in the controller you cant change them
Online system looks lame
Home looks like the sims
PS3 has lost most of its top exclusives
For £450 i dont see what exra im getting as a games console? if i want Linux and Web browsing ill use a PC
On paper means shit, real world performance shows little or no improvement over the 360

no gaymer points system : the games themselfs (resistance, motorstorm) have point systems. Sony will be adding the function soon though. (with Home) exactly so no collective gamer poitns system
games arent as good (yet) : depends on what you like no its just its a new console s owont have decent games yet
cost : your getting more for your money than an xbox. thats why its £125 more but as a gaming console your not getting anymore
in a lot of ways its actually down on performance compared to 360 : on paper, if the game developers actually make full use of the 7 processors on Cell, then it will exceed 360 no its still hampered by its crippled memory bus
forced to have blu ray, if it fails your stuffed. : forced to have a dvd player, if fails your stuffed. like i said before, if hddvd fails, we got the option of not having it and getting the console for half the price
no backward compatibility in europe : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6471649.stm will read

wireless controllers arent quite wireless - They have to be configured once with the cable connected after that there fully wireless
online is crapper - possibly but we dont know yet, so not a valid point
no gaymer points system yes there is
games arent as good (yet) we cannot comment on this, so not a valid point
cost
in a lot of ways its actually down on performance compared to 360
forced to have blu ray, if it fails your stuffed. if the drive on any machine failes your stuffed , so not a valid point
looks fugly (imo) far from it
no backward compatibility in europe yes it is check sony and news sites
still motion sensitive controllers does it for me and others! the xbox does not have this so

i meant if the blu ray format fails, then your stuck with a blu ray drive with not much stuff available for it.
with the 360 if HD format fails then it doesnt matter, just dont buy the drive, your not forced to have it and forced to have paid for it

true, but thats a chance that you have to take, would be the same if you brought a standalone Blu-ray player aswell.
