After a long day yesterday I managed to get hold of an engine lift, and got cracking with the engine. Went in no probs apart from the front gearbox mount which was bit of a fucker to get all the bolts lined up but got there eventually.

Tried fitting the gearlinkage from LMF, which I was told fitted straight on. It's never that easy though is it. So there was some cutting and welding needed, which still didn't work, so I need another part from the original corsa linkage now. S o left that and plumbed the engine in and got most of the wiring sorted.

Anyways, here's some pics

One of my mates who was supposed to be helping not dirty one bit and obviously too busy reading

engine in

me pretending to look busy

engine in, nearly all plumbed in, wired up and turbo on

and how it stands now, not far off from finished

I thought about that but if I put the pipe over the tophat it doesn't reach down to the manifold, so I can't win really. I might have something lying around that might do the job

Well it will be up and running but I've decieded not to take it it's a 600mile round trip and i'm not risking something going wrong when I get half way down there. I'm still going though but it might be the work van making an appearance on the strip, not the corsa

I think all of them (which was 4 kits in total) came in some around the £400 mark. Not cheap.

Oh that, it is for the engine lift. It's an old one so comes with the hydraulic pump seperate, managed to do the job though, even with oil pissing everywhere!

It's been a while since I updated now, been working away so haven't been able to do anything really.

I decided to do a little bit this weekend, so today I built up the passenger side.

New bearings, and big hubs for my big shafts. I will be using equal length jobbies on mine

Hub carrier on, shaft will need cutting down. Comes through too much.

New braided brake hose, V6 Brakes, new track rod end

I tried having another go at the gearlinkage today but I'm still having major problems with it. Even the local Corsa Turbo specialist spent an afternoon fucking around with it and got no where

Haven't had much chance to do anything recently. But today I finished off all of my wiring inside the car

I really didn't want to do this but I had to cut my front bumper

Hopefully should be getting my gear linkage sorted soon as well.

Cutting the bumper with kitchen knives, quality! Think we've all been there at some point.

Thought you'd have this done by now like, get your finger out!

Well I didn't want to be using a hacksaw, because it's all been re-sprayed so didn't fancy flaking all the paint off.

I was going to solder the joints, but don't have the equipment at the mo. Was just going to wrap electrical tape round each connection, then altogether. Will that not hold them?
