Right, little update:

First off, a couple of parts waiting to go in/on the car when I find time or money for other parts

Irmscher/CDX rear valance and boot to semi-smooth: (to the right you can also see a front CDX valance)

A Cobra Daytona recliner, bought brand new for £80, but I need a subframe when I get cash:

Another set of Cesaro's waiting for a new coat of paint, and a new steering wheel so I can fit the airbag, as mine has a hole in the horn button (that was fitted today):

And now, onto the interesting bit - when I said soon, I meant soon!!!

That is an official Lexmaul strut brace as well, I'm told they are extremely rare!

So, as the job started:

With the inlet fitted:

Strut brace and cover also on:

Couple more pictures in the sun now, it runs so much better!

Mud from getting stuck in the camping field at PVS :

and how the interior currently looks:

I was told yesterday the inlet has been on jr's car, Stavs old blue Corsa B, Lee Wilson's and now mine, and the strut brace has been on all of them plus Robin's old Brocade sport

Oh, and one more little touch - which previous owner left this little souvenir?

I laughed when I unwrapped it from its bubblewrap this afternoon

It drives much better now, pulls very well from about 4k up to the redline, but it doesn't need the balls revved off it to get the most from it, I think changing gear about 6k yesterday seemed about best.

The engine was red hot when I started the job as I'd just driven 60 miles to get a new gasket so I kept trying to burn my arms and hands on the rocker cover, and the old upper inlet I had to leave for about 20 minutes as I couldn't touch it without being burnt.

Even so, from opening the bonnet to closing again was 2 hours, and if it was all cold, probably could have been done in 45 minutes. That 2 hours also included removing the battery, changing the airbag and refitting the battery.

The hardest bit was fitting the front two bolts of the five that hold the upper and lower inlets together, as they are hidden underneath the inlet itself, and my fingers weren't quite long enough, I had to use long-nose pliers to drop them into place, then a rathcet spanner to do them up, turning it about 20 degrees each time

And yea, the strut brace is awesome, fantastic design so that everything is still accessible easily (coolant) and follows the shape of the inlet so well!

So how does the lexmaul perform differently to the standard manifold as the 6ft plastic tube is still there.

Or is the top inlet ports bigger on this?
