Why is SAF such a cock?
He goes on about us being this evil opportunistic club, and that the agent is all wrong, blah blah.
Yet they are the ones also in the middle of a transfer deal for Tevez which is a lot more dodgey than this one

Yeah I added the evil part, I can see it in his eyes he fears us, thinks we are evil
No I know what he is saying, but he is still trying to make out we are in the wrong. Has mentioned a few days ago about looking at when we contacted him, etc.

same with us and Heinze as far as everyone other than Fergie is concerned!!
Its similar, both trying to buy players whose clubs dont want to let them leave but instigated by their agents.

The letter to his agent said they would allow him to leave if they was offered 6.8million is it?
I know that they said theyll allow, but its still up to them who they allow him to go to, afterall, you could offer anything, and if we dont want to sell to you we dont have to, he is still contracted to us for 2 years
Personally i dont care where he goes,

The arguement is that this letter is effectively a contract between Heinze and United saying he can leave if a club offers this amount of money (said to be £6.8m). So if we offer that they feel that United can do nothing to stop the move.
Its all going to come down to if a court thinks the letter is a legally binding contract or not.

Hasnt there been a lawyer saying it will be very unlikely that the letter will hold up in court, as yes, they have said they will allow him to leave for that price, but it doesnt mean they have to let him leave

It depends what and how it says, that lawyer hasnt seen the letter just heared the rumours that are going around.
There must be something to it for us to carry on pushing it, i.e. its like having a buyout clause in your contract where once that amount is offered the club who owns you can do nothing to stop the deal.

its nothing like a buy-out clause imo, that would be stated in his contract, this is just a letter stating the valuation that would have to be met, pretty much just a price tag,

just my interpretation of it like yours is
at the end of the day, he's still contracted to united for 2 more years, and yes the letter may say we will sell him for 6.8 million, but i cant imagine it saying that they have to if that value is met, and also, wouldnt a legally binding agreement like that have to be signed by both parties, ie an agreement? heinze and united both sign, then it would be a buy out clause?

Im no lawyer mate, Im just going by what Ive read and heard from both sides.
As far as I can see it, if our legal team only thought it was 'just a letter' then we wouldnt be pushing for the move as there would be very little point when we could move onto other targets. So thats what Im basing my opinion on.

yeah, like i said, i dont mind either way, sometimes he is brilliant, but he still makes too many mistakes so it wouldnt bother me, id personally have riise over him too
either way, its gonna be very very difficult to prove it as effectively a buy-out clause,
and it could be liverpool are just pissed off that united wont sell at any price to you, and be trying to force our arm as such

we woundnt waste our time over it when we NEED defensive cover. We'd move onto the next target before it gets too late.
