No, we lack STRENGTH in our starting players upfront. Kuyt/Crouch, etc. are all fine to provide strength in depth, but not to be playing week in, week out.

No....read what Im writing Marcus!! We have the strength in the squad in the likes of Kuyt and Crouch. Its maybe 1 or 2 players to play alongside Torres and Gerrard when attacking that we lack. Babel is probably one of these but wont be until next season, so certainly missing one forward.

Yeah but imagine the link up with torres. We could have 2 strikers, berbatov running in behind torres producing some of those lovely flicks and delicate tocuhes 
Then the best midfield in the wo-r-r-rld behind them with gerrard in ACM, mascherano DCM and babel on the left and pennant on the right to give some width

He'd be a great player with Torres, just think anything over £20m for him is over priced.

Can see how you mean but as you say Babel aint the finished product yet. Not sure if i'd be wanting to push torres out wide either.

Not really wide, was more so that didnt look too squashed up Berbatov likes to drop deeper, so would be just behind Torres.

I would like to see arbeloa come forward a bit more before saying that's the absolute optimum. I have seen him venture forward a few times and he's looked good though. Aurellio seems to run into a bit of a brick wall when attempting to push up.
I wouldn't be adverse to that though and if you started riise instead of aurellio you could change the whol system pretty easily with one sub.

I would say the Aurelio/Riise position would be the weakest, followed by Arbeloa if as you said he cant hack it when attacking more. Certainly an option though now we have the 3 central defenders, and also allows Gerrard, Masch and Alonso to start, which is a must IMO.

That's the thing we have 3 world class central midfielders there all with different things to offer. I would love to see them all fit in every game but doubt we will go with that system above unless as you say we get some outstanding wingback (alves )

A hell of a lot more depth than you guys. Just lack that 1 extra match winner to go along with Torres and Gerrard to match your Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney.
