They assist with fresh air circulation which both reduces window fogging during wet conditions and helps to reduce the build up of heat during summer.

they also allow you to open the window when its raining without any rain coming in, and also when travelling at high speed you can open the window to let smoke out or help with condensation without alot of air gushing in

I think magnex did both, ive seen a 4-2-1 Magnex manifold on a xe Cally. Which looked similar to yours.

Yours looks very similar to the one i have, but the flange part on mine is rectangle, and not "cut out" around the stud holes if you get me.
The pipework looks a similar size to mine too.

Wouldn't mind knowing the pipe sizes of that one too if your ever up the garage with a tape measure near by

had a quick mince at the garage today...

out comes rad

followed by airbox, headertank & battery tray

followed by manifold and im left with this..

also disconnected clutch, engine loom, accelerator cable,

all that left to do now is, gear linkage & fuel pipe's, then i and whip engine out

found out a few things to day - need a new rad, as the 1.0 12v is different
and the post 97 or 1.0 12v had different mounts for the front mount on the air box, so my pre-97 gsi one wont fit - sorted that though, can use the car's original bottom, with gsi top half

and thats all folk's
