Got a busy few months as want to get it open by xmas
Sorry to break the bad news, but Xmas is in 1 month.
Well, by xmas I mean 5th Jan
It actually wont take too much time now that the demo work has been done. The rest is all a load of jobs that can be done at the same time (studded walling, new electrics, air con, flooring, plastering, decoration, etc.).

Ive no idea where Subway is so couldnt say
Update on the Lpool shop: Visited yesterday, batt was dead on my camera ( ) so no pics. Half the studded walls are up and second half should be finished by the end of the week. Have arranged to meet the sparkies, aircon guys, plumbers, alarm/cctv, BT, flooring (x2) and decorator first thing next week.
Also still got to confirm with the shop front guys on the colour we want the metal powercoating, and still waiting on the sign guy to come back with the proof for the sign and awning.
And havent even thought about getting the ePOS guys in there yet to spec out for what they'll need
Busy

Looking from one side at the front of the shop. Leading down to the main part of the shop on the left. Main reception area on the right (goes round the corner too). Two fitting rooms directly in front.
Pic from the other side...
Part way down the front sales area. The two fitting rooms again. And the reception area the other side of these. Will be rails down the left and right (that partition still to be made) and seating in the middle to view look books, etc.
The other side of the front sales area. Wall only partly knocked down to the right where accessories will be. Entrance to the back through what will be an archway.
View down to the back of the shop. Storeroom and three more fitting rooms to the right. Bridesmaids room and their own fitting area, and the couture bridal room to the left. Entrance to the garage and upstairs at the back.
Bridesmaid room. Rails will be down each side in the left, and around 5 or 6 changing rooms (like a standard shop) with seating and big mirrors in the right hand side.
Couture Room. Big archway entrance into it. Units still to be built into this which will be platerboarded in. Can see the other side of the bridesmaids room through it.
Two of the fittings room down the other side. All three current doors will be bricked up. Windows will have frosted film on so cant see out the back.
The garage. Will be split in two and have menswear in one half, and in house sewing (probably 4 or 5 full time seamstresses) in the other.

Its a local carpenter (more like a building firm with the jobs he does these days), we have used him for all the shops we've got so far (fitted out an old barn in Tarleton, total refurb of a shithouse place in Southport, same in Preston, this huge job in Liverpool and going into the Chester shop next week to refurb that). Joes (off here) mate works for him.

Yeah, sales are well up on previous years. At the end of the day girls will still want to get married, and although they'll make cost cuts on what they spend their dress is usually the last place!

yeah, Pole Ice did the install at the Riverside sales office that was built last year. its a quality system, but i have no idea how much they paid for it, but it wouldn't have been cheap knowing them
we do alittle bit of work for a company called Airtech, their office is in Bootle, have no idea if they're any good though

Update One - this was Jan 2009. Only a small update as not much was done over Xmas other than electrical work and all the aircon stuff being laid above the ceiling.
Archway in the rear bridal showroom (couture room) started, looking onto two private fitting rooms.
Boarding out started, looking down from the back to the front. A sparkie getting in the way!
Ceiling started in the front, its dropped about 50mm to allow aircon to be run above it.

Update Two - Feb 2009. Took these today.
Reception partly boarded out, new front goes in soon so ceiling has been left short for now.
Lookng down the corridor from the reception. Either side will have massive prints taken from a few magazine photoshoots we have done recently.
Looking right from the top of that corridor will be the main bridal showroom. The two doors you can see are the first two private fitting rooms. Rails of dresses will be either side of this room with some sort of seating in the middle. Can just see one of the two air con units that have been fitted.
Looking towards the back from this main showroom is the entrance to the back of the shop. To the right will be the accessories area. Have designed some custom modern looking furniture myself thats being built up to showcase these.
Looking through the arch towards the back. Disabled WC on the left, then bridesmaids room and then second bridal showroom. On the right is the storeroom, and then 3 more private fitting rooms.
Looking through first arch on the left of this corridor, the bridesmaids room. Looks narrow in these pics but this side is about 4m wide and 7-8m (ish) long.
Arch ways at both ends of the bridesmaids room will lead to their dedicated fitting area. Will have 5 large changing rooms, and this can be split into two areas so can serve two different groups. Changing rooms will go where the ceiling has been stepped down.
Next along the left is the second bridal showroom. Massive archway into it. As this is going to house the really expensive dresses Ive given it a different look to the main showroom.
Looking back down from the back towards the front of the shop.
Couldnt get any decent pics of the three fitting rooms as was so dark. Also no progress on the back where the big garage is being split in two and turned into seamtresses room and menswear.
