I don't rate Downing, but the 'Boro fans * love him! He's got their POTY award for the last 3 years or something stupid. Best of a bad bunch maybe, but still....

Think there is a chance of you getting Carroll on loan and I'd personally give Smith a piggy back down to your place and pay you for the privilege if it meant I never had to see him in a Newcastle shirt again

I'd love Smith to come here & score the winner against Leeds, I think they'd all explode with rage

Few clubs looking at Carrol as I understand, read Ipswich were looking at him & were going to table a £1mill bid for him. We cant compete with that, not by a long shot.

Spurs will hardly pay anything for Defoe as Portsmouth still owe us for when we sold him!

Don't they owe for a couple of other players too?

Younes Kaboul and Pedro Mendes...

I know it happens every transfer window but Alan Smith to Rangers has been banded about a bit. Would love that to happen

Also, if Barry Ferguson goes to Newcastle/ANYWHERE I would be a happy chappy Davis and Mendes in central midfield + a decent winger

Personally I'd say he was worth near that sum. But since it's barca they will have to offer over the odds to get him.

I rate him really highly, I can't think of many others who are as good in his position. Masch, Essien
