I sit in my sisters 2 year old BMW and don't see anything better in there than the Astra, the dash has better layout but it's not better screwed together.

The Astra with SATNAV & climate has a better layout but that is expensive and totally pointless just for a coloured screen and a few different button combinations.

a point to make that has nothing to do with the audi is better than vauxhall argument/discussion.

notice the lack of jap cars on that list? i find that a bit odd.

But when preparing 57/08 reg cars for going to the new customer you can build an opinion?

I'm just talking about why I think Vauxhall are cheaper/other brands command a premium.

Audi command a premium because of a reputation exactly like Nic has pointed out already, not because the cars are better. That is it.

The Astra climate is pretty rubbish, pointlessly complicated to use.

That is a strange one, you would have thought the Civic would have been on there or even the Seat Leon/Ibiza.

Thats just what I mean though, there seems to be no thought with Vauxhall.

The fact you can't see all of the fan direction settings on your Astra? No cupholders? Badly thought out things let them down, things just aren't nicely laid out for you.

The new Civic is a lovely car. Obviously doesn't sell too well though.

I think audi is higher quality than vauxhall.

VW are going down in the quality stakes but still higher than vauxhall.

yeah, there are a lot of good jap cars and people buy them purely based on the reliability reputation. im actually a bit amazed not to see any jap cars in that list as id have thought it would have had a few.

true i guess, but you'd expect them require less fixing and maintenance. atleast thats what all the people i know that bought new or nearly new jap stuff say as one of the main reasons they did.

The best cup holders I have EVER come across are in a Corsa B, the ones in the glovebox are awesome, Coke cans and McDonalds cups fit perfectly.

nissan/renault/vauxhall vans have the best cup holders in the world. can actually just squeeze a super size burger king cup into them to stop them wobbling about.

jesus thats low, a cupholder is the difference when buying a car?

Vauxhall do good cheap cars people can afford to run, and they have better models for those who want a bit more push!

Audi aren't much different except to get the one's that are good you pay silly ammount of money, like someone said a 1.6 16v standard a4 will cost more than a much better ranged astra or mondeo!
