I think a lot to do with the Astra GSi not feeling an inspired well handling car is the driving position and the design of the dash, no bullshit. As the GSi doesn't have steering columm adjustment either so you can't get it perfect.

To add, with a RARB and decent suspension it's as good as every other car mentioned in this thread.

I just asked Rach and she couldn't remember and neither could I, I don't remember it adjusting. But yes, still goes up and down not forward and back.

Well I prefer the CTR i've driven both and even owned one and its my opinion....ctr's are not popular for no reason?? I would understand your gripe if I was just throwing wild asuptions when in reality all I was driving was a 1.2 Clio RN

id probly go for a ctr now over astra after owning 2x zlet's

the astras feel delicate ,where as the ctr's ive been in love a good bit of abuse ,
But looks wise i think the gsi looks 10x better than a ctr,

CTR = 145lb/f, seems quite normal for a 2.0l TBH my 2.5l has 185lb/f.

never been out in a tuned one

been out in a fucking quicked tuned vx220, prob fastest thing iv been in, no idea what power, but felt like 100mph came in seconds! but thats a different car, not all about the engine

but a vxr seems quicker in standard form,

£3k to get decent torque from a CTR

You'd get a fair bit more than 300bhp in a z20let for £3k
