for what i was plannig france = £200 per person (gone up now  ) but thats flights over there then we would need an hour and half journey to the hotel  but it would mean we're only 5mins walk away from the chateux versailles (which she wants to go see again).
or... london which she loves... but i know feck all about the area's so dont know where to book a hotel but its half the price
(bare in mind ill be paying for me and her )

it would be the main sites i imagin, just on about general area for the hotel really.
Ideally want one in a good location but i dont want to be paying congestion charges and would like somewhere secure to leave my car.

If you're going on a weekend you wont have to worry about congestion charge.
If not then you would have to be somewhere outside the area on the map on the link
