indeed, and its easy enough to change a sprocket to get a higher top end or get a bike turbo'd for not alot of money, like I posted before ( and I'll need to check with him ) but a mates Holeshot Racing 'busa will easily top 200mph - i think hes running around 300>350ish hp (stage 3 i think) which is alot more power than a WSB/MOTOGP/BSB bike- i think. it becomes a handful in the twistys though....
Only problem with changing the sprockets is the speedos WELL out then, and also say a GSXR1000 does 182mph, its not on the redline, it simply needs more power to go faster. Adding a diff set of sprockets will only lower the revs, it still needs the power.
Best off going with a larger rear and smaller front sproket, screwing your speedo even moreout (like shows 30mph over at 60mph (so shows 90)), but it vastly increases acceleration.
Best for trackday bikes
I think Hyabusa costs what £4k 2nd hand. Chuck another £4k on a turbo conversion and it will see 200mph.
Show me ANY car that'll do 200mph for £8k

See I know your fibbing as theres only 1 track day place in the UK it'll get to those speeds. Brunters, and even then it'll be very hard pushed and would need the full 2 miles+
Even the astra only made 125mph on the UK's longest race circuit straight. 1km at Snettertons Revvit Straight

Why is that no believable? I don't know about anyone else but mine were at like 2am, empty motorway, can see for miles...
there is 1s 200mph plus even top gear need a runway
Nah, the lincoln to newark A46 is plenty long enough to hit 200mph. Its usually swinderby roundabout to mark philips bridge before you have to start braking if your going fast. 209mph under mark philips bridge was his 997 turbo. 212 in a 430 challenge stradale, plus well over 180 in a gallardo nera, 997 gt3, 997 gt2, noble m400. Over 150 in a new shape m5, new shape m3, 996 gt3, M3 csl... Its not my fault i have a wealthy spouse who happens to enjoy buying fast cars and driving the wheels off them.
As for fast bikes, if you go on a K1 onwards gsx-r1000 - the speedo sticks at 184 but the revs continute to rise. trap speeds arent always published for them as most modern day sports bikes are easily capable of 200mph if given the room to do so. since about the year 2000 they have all done over 180mph and had 100mph first gears but i know of only 2 people who can use one to its full potential on the road. 1000cc sb's are just for bragging rights down the pub, in reality a 600 is much more suited to the road and would give you much more fun.
Changing the gearing doesnt always mess up speedos either. i know on aprilias at the very least they take the speedo reading from the rear wheels so sprocket size makes no difference.

ibiza 110 once only goes up to 115.
passenger i dont know never bin too quick as a passenger apart from in plantys focus which was admittedly only about 80-90 but that was about 100meters from a 90 degree turn we had to make scary as hell

well it takes 1000bhp to get an escos over 200mph, 800 to get a siercos over 200mph. i can imagine a mk1 escort needing a healthy 1500bhp....

It's not about weight, it's about aerodynamics. The current mk1 or mk2 record is near as damn it 180mph, that's a very powerful car.
Like I say, I'll believe it when I see it
