Bit of random knowledge... Victor Anichebe went to my secondary school...
He wasn't even that good. I know of at least 5 players of his year better than him.

That free kick swerved around the wall, that was the only movement on it, from replay i saw anyway, other than that it went in a straight line, pretty much through robinson.
The majority of his free kicks are just hit it as hard as he can, hope it beats the wall and wobbles about bit. I'm not saying there's no skill in it, and the ones that do occasionally fly in, look good, but all he does is kick it REALLY hard
The free kick against Pompey was good, i can't deny that. Just pisses me off how people spunk over his free kicks when the vast majority either hit the middle of the wall or going miles over.

Also, i'll admit that i hate Ronaldo, i have respect for his skill and think that he fully deserved to win the awards that he has done.
But i still feel my point is valid about his free kicks. Also, he's an arrogant prick, who should of been banned long ago for his retaliations, otherwise as he's proved, he's just gonna keep on kicking people when he feels like it

I think the problem is his freekicks often arent a perfect curved shot around a wall into a small gap where the keeper cant reach. They are simply him smashing the ball in such a way they he gets a huge amount of movement on it.
Saying that - that is a skill in itself as if anyone could do it you'd see it happening in every game.
Still think Robinson should of done more to save it though this weekend.

Like most people's free kicks?
Try doing one yourself hitting it like he does to get it over the wall and down on target
The way he strikes the ball and the new types of balls give the movement in the air
And they are a nightmare for goalkeepers when they are moving about everywhere, the one this weekend moved about quite a bit aswell

wigan had a poor draw at boro . only scored 1 goal is last 6!

TBH you need that sort of luck to win the league...not giving away the pen, getting the free kick, cunt face and his curly haired friend both not being sent off.
Whilst we go and conceed from a massive deflection

TBH, you have to win your home games as well to stand a chance of winning the league, Liverpool won 7, drawn 6 i think i saw on SSN today? (i'm sure it'll be corrected in a min), but if you can't win your home games then you're screwed really.
Also, strength in depth has been Utds main strength this season imo, they've had quite a lot of injuries, but have been able to replace players who fit into the positions they're meant to be playing. The youngsters they brought in have really stepped up as well.
Other teams has slipped up way too often.
I'd like to say they've cheated their way to where they are, but they haven't, they've been consistent, other teams haven't frankly

Im not saying they have cheated, they havent by a long shot and deserve to be where they are.
Im more just pointing out that you do need luck, and Im sure we'll get some before the end of the season just as they have got some recently.
And agreed about our home form, we just cant break down teams who come and throw plenty of men behind the ball.

Fair enough, agree with you there
Hopefully for you lot your luck will come in Europe, i think 2nd in the prem and doing better than english teams in europe would be satisfactory from this point for you

Yeah, Im sure most fans would of taken 2nd place at the start of the season as is a massive improvement for us. Things still arent over yet but may well be by the time we play United in a few weeks.
