Ouch is about the right word, yes
Apparently it needed "new rear wheel cylinders" which required "special fitting". It was something like £31 for the parts and bang on £40 to fit them. Otherwise it would have been exactly what he quoted me.

That's what I'm dreading.
Dad should have moved my golf from his yard to the mech to swap the box. Quoted £150 to switch them but i have a feeling he'll find other things wrong

Stuff falling apart ftl. My phone keeps falling to bits All the clips have broken off the front cover so it comes off when it feels like it.
My mum's car used to clonk, turned out it was some part of the exhaust tapping when changing gear etc (doing stuff that made the engine move about) which was really quiet inside, but the pipes amplified it and it sounded like someone was hitting the underside of the car with a hammer Copper grease fixed it for a bit but I think it got taken to the garage and sorted eventually.
