X18XE1, Z18XE, Z16XE, X14XE all have the block Obviously the bore sizes are different..

the 1.8's have a long stroke crank and a superior head design..

The 1.8's also dont have the stupid inlet and and aux air injection.. Also the EGR assembly is a seperate part on the side of the block.

The 1.8's also have twin-loom solid state management (ECU on block) and bigger oil pumps.

I'd like mine done mate Not yet obviously, insurance will bend me over with 1NCB

How much for 12v poverty spec (Envoy)? No air con, no pas, 1/4 of the engine missing (makes it easier to lift ), didn't even have rev counter clocks until I put them in.

I'm guessing I could do with a different gearbox though, seeing as it's an F10.

Not as easy as the 8v as the loom is different.. but will be around the £425-450 mark.

Different loom ftl

I'd still rather one over an XE though which would be more hassle

i was told you couldnt fit z18xe/x18xe1 head to the x16xe/x14xe as the block/head were both a different design. and the decks were much different?

dunno how true this is?

Problem is you wont be able to use your standard TPS and exhaust manifold (so your aux air injection is going to have a paddy) which make it a bit pointless unless you are going custom management and if you are going to go that far you might as well use the 1.8 block.

Both of these engines are the wrong ones. You need an X18XE1. This is the problem with having so many different versions

I'm not actually sure they even did an X18XEL tbh.

Either way, the X18XE is a big block engine:

See here: http://www.dohc.co.uk/x18xe1/engines.html That explains all of the different types.

because theyre all poor and under powered and basically a 1987 20xe is the correct engine to convert into a corsa. tried, tested, works a treat.

No, that's the Z18XE if you mean Corsa C.

1.8 VVT's came in very late Astra G's.
